Great article on his struggles.

Mariota has accuracy issues this season and our predictable play calling doesn't help.

He’s actually been one of the league’s best passers off of play-action fakes, when he can use the threat of a run to manipulate defenders and find openings for his receivers downfield. On those plays, he’s thrown for 841 yards (sixth), seven touchdowns (tied for third), and just one interception for a league-high 132.8 rating, per Pro Football Focus. The only problem is that the Titans still aren’t leaning heavily enough on play-action within their passing game, utilizing it on just 24.4 percent of their pass plays, which ranks 11th league-wide. (For reference, Deshaun Watson ran play-action fakes on a league-high 30.3 percent of his pass plays, and Case Keenum’s 28.7 percent play-action rate ranks second.)

We could debate this all day, you have your opinion and I have mine. Bortles probably loses his job after the playoffs, which is fine with me it has run its course.

Im taking Bortles over Mariota, debate over "pal"

Nothing personal your way.

Lol your football logic makes no sense.

Your taking someone that will be unemployeed next season vs someone that has shown alot of promise? Strange.

4 game winning drives this season alone, Bortles has 7 total for his entire career.
I would love to have the stress of waiting for that next Bortles boneheaded throw, either on the bench or out of town. Yet I would take him over your idol, that says enough .

Well you would take him over Cousins too. Your take on QBs is terrible and you should stop talking about that position in general. You obviously have no clue.

It's gone real quiet!
Jags punter had a better QB rating than Mariota today

You also said Kirk Cousins this year was give or take with Blake sooo.

Well according to this forum Blake was king of "garbage time" in 2015. Sounds an awful lot like your boy this year! Oh wait, I thought Taylor was your boy?

Just to clarify (again) you think Bortles is better than Kirk Cousins?

My boy? Tyrod? Yeah I still like Tyrod as a QB and believe he's better than Blake.

Clarify all you want! RIGHT NOW IN THIS MOMENT , BLAKE BORTLES IS A CAPABLE QUARTERBACK FOR WHAT WE HAVE GOING THIS YEAR! 11 of Kirk Cousin's 21 touchdown passes have come in games decided by 2 possessions or more. So you go ahead , and continue grading your quarterbacks with box scores dreaming about next year. I'm going to continue enjoying the current run, as long as it lasts.

In 2015 under Greg Olsen, Blake lead the leage in passing attempts, you guys were atleast down by two scores to start the 2nd half, the offense was involved on a heavy pass first and the run game was nonexistence.

This is where you need to learn to compartmentalise. I'm really enjoying this year, enjoying Blake when he plays well AND looking forward to what's going to happen next year, especially with our QB situation.  Bortles has been below average this year, despite some good games and a good record.

I appreciate you calling me out for "grading your QBs with box scores" while also bringing up box scores as a reason for Kirk bring worse than Blake though. Very funny!

Anyone with football knowledge knows that Kirk is the much better QB - I dont need Football stats to tell me this; eye test pretty much tells every fan with common sense that he far superior than Blake is at every aspect of the game.

Precisely. The only thing Blake does better as a QB is run.
Guys, guys. Can we just all agree that mariota is trash?

Hard to blame one particular player when all the players on that team has took a step back this year. The issue is clear as day, its obviously the system. This system was exposed in 2011 in Atlanta when Mularkey was a OC.

No way in hell is he 10 million a year better!

As far as box scores, I used game by game breakdowns for the numbers. Not the Monday paper.

See before you were just Blake was better. Now we  have the backtrack where you admit Cousins is better but you don't agree on the price. We're getting there. What do you think the price difference should be between a below average QB and a below average QB?

Considering my Monday papers don't have any NFL news that's an odd one. If you think my take on Cousins>Bortles is incorrect I'd like to hear why from a gameplay standpoint. Apart from run, what does Blake do better than Cousins as a Qb?
