Just an FYI. Shows how poorly coached this franchise is. Bortles was ahead of Manziel, Bridgewater, and Carr on the Pats draft board.

I know for a fact both Bill O'Brien and Belichick had him the #1 QB on the board (both friends of George O'Leary).

Coaching means a lot.

Belichick could have Brandon Allen under center on this team and we'd be 5-2/6-1.

It really does, from the fundamentals to having confidence what you are doing will work.
Why would the Patriots want Blake Bortles knowing Tom Brady was not going anywhere?

Why would Green Bay want Aaron Rodgers when they had Brett Favre? Man, Jags fans are inept. Grooming the future bud.
Tom Brady isn't getting younger.  The Pats know how to build a perpetually competitive team.  They would either develop Bortles as a replacement, or trade him away later for more draft picks.

Give it a rest already, guy. You're speaking to deaf ears. Everyone on this board thinks you're crazy, and for good reason. You have an unhealthy infatuation with trying to prove to people hear that Bortles is awesome. You're not changing anyone's mind, you're just starting to annoy everyone, to be frank.

Being right sucks. Especially with loser fans like yourself.
They also liked Ryan Mallett. O'Brien even took him to Houston.

That worked out well.

Pats have had their share of draft errors too.

Draft errors are due to coaching and surroundings 9x out of 10.

The Pats hit on MOST of their picks because of coaching.

Yeah, a lot of Jags fans are inept. I see crap on this forum every day.

The Packers had no idea how long Brett Favre wanted to keep playing because even he did not know. Most people expected a shorter wait for Aaron Rodgers.

The only person here that thinks you're right, is yourself. And someone who "owns part of a multi million dollar insurance company" shouldn't be throwing around personal insults on a message board. It's not a good look.
Well duh...who wouldn't want that dreamy hunk of man meat...amirite spacecoast?

Usually when you have to bring stuff up like that yourself, or brag about it, it's never true.

SCJ seems to have a fake love affair with Blake. Nobody else talks about him the way he does.
They said Kevin O'Connell was their #1 QB too .. You can be wrong and the Patriots have had plenty of busts over the years.. the difference is the greatest draft day home run of all time alongside a few others

Nobody was ever denying that he was a legitimate prospect, but all of that is irrelevant in comparison to the struggles he is currently having, which will put him out of the league. It's not like Bortles can say to the next head coach, "but but the Patriots liked me 4 years ago.. " when he gets traded or released.

It's all about now. The harsh reality in player scouting and development is that guys don't develop the way you hope and there is very little to go off of when it comes to the potential of 20-23 year old college kids. You have to be able to let go, take yourself, your feeling for someone out of the equation and learn to let go of what could hve been or whatever fantasy you've created in your mind.

Sounds like you're paying too much on auto insurance and your homeowner's, i mean renters insurance.

I know for a fact that you don't know any of this for a fact.

O'Connell threw 0 TDs in his career. Bortles is on pace for over 70 TDs the last two years on the WORST TEAM IN THE NFL.

Terrible analogy.

If Bortles was on a real franchise, he would be praised.
