I have never followed him or his ways....but what changed bellicheat from a loser at the browns to a
dang near legendary, player inspiring, winner mystique Head Coach?
Did he make a personality change when moving between jobs.
Not trying to hijack thread....but he was brought up here.

He wasn't a loser, he took them to the playoffs.
They just got to old under his watch and he had a season that around here we call Gus's high water mark.

And he coached the heck out of those teams. They would have been 0-16 or 1-15 those years under Gus.
Tom Brady happened to BB.
Ok, had a chance to research some record at the browns was 36-44....so not a great record.
I figured what Stroudcrowd said.....mostly brady happened.
wikipedia page is interesting.....but doesn't go deep into his style and how it may have evolved.

What also hurt the Browns greatly in 1995 is when the rumors started that the team was going to move to Baltimore and then the eventual mid-season announcement the Browns were moving to Baltimore in 1996. After that, the team totally collapsed and Bill Belichick didn't have the opportunity to coach the new Baltimore Ravens in 1996. Coaching again under Bill Parcells, with both the Patriots and Jets, was the first step to Belichick having much more success in his 2nd HC stint.

Any port in a storm...................
There seems to be a lot of smoke surrounding the Jags and Coughlin... Is there any doubt that is most likely going to happen?
I am really curious which staff Coughlin would bring with him seeing how his staff pretty much stayed together in NY. I would love to see Coughlin hire a guy like Dan Campbell to groom as his successor. It doesn't necessarily need to be Campbell, but a guy like him.
There's no smoke at all.
Not unless you count what the folks who want/hope for him back are smoking.

Two first places and Two second places.
Tom is a Hall of Famer. Dunno how good he would be now but I do know the penalties would drastically change quickly.
One other reason I would like Coughlin here is because he won two super bowls with Eli Manning....the poster child for turnovers and inconsistency. And Bortles has struggled with those two issues.

Tom would be as good as Bortles plays. It's the NFL.
My god, the Raiders won with 23/200 yds of penalties. Fortunately Old Tom is an offensive guy, so that would help. I wonder who he would select for DC.

Would've been funnier/made more sense if you used a picture of Coughlin in Jags gear. But hey, you tried.
