Quote:I have been watching football since the mid-80's. I always thought the two worst stretches of football I have ever seen were from the Buccaneers of the early-mid 1980's and the Bengals of the early-mid 1990's.
I figured it was worth comparing Bradley to the coaches from those eras.
Bradley's record is 14-41 (.255 winning %)
The coach of the Bucs from 1987-1990 was Ray Perkins.
Perkins' record was 19-41 (.317 winning %)
The coach of the Bengals from 1992-1996 was Dave Shula.
Shula's record was 19-52 (.268 winning %)
Not surprising but basically the Bradley era is as bad an era I've seen in my 30 years of football fandom.
And our owner still keeps him on as coach...
I mean, it's like we are stuck in a nightmare... how can this be real life? If our owner isn't trying to move this team, then what on earth other rational is there?
Khan could get 4 flat tires on his car, and keep driving it just to get his money's worth.
I paid for those tires, so I'm running them until every shred of rubber is gone.
Quote:Yeah the only play I saw him before and after my sleep was when he I guess assumed Mariota was going out of bounds or took the wrong angle and Mariota ended up getting the first down, but in all honesty as many plays as he makes when others on the team DON'T, I don't think you can really fault the guy. He's seriously playing like a man on a mission (kinda scares me like is he trying to prove his point to get a big pay day and leave Jax?). We got another year on him so I hope to god next year counts because I think he could be on the way to being the best LB ever for us, and I loooooovvveed Mike Peterson.
When I watch Telvin Smith, another former FSU LB comes to mind in terms of what Smith reminds me of when he's at or near his best: Derrick Brooks.
Once the Jaguars know what direction the team is going in for the 2017 season regarding coaching, that would be a good time to open contract negotiations with Telvin Smith if the team brass at the time believe he's a good fit for the system. With all of the Jags salary cap space, if the team wants to keep Smith, it should happen.
Mike Peterson was enjoyable to watch playing LB. Bill Polian is a HOF GM but he probably wishes that he would have found a way for the Colts to retain him.

I'll be honest I don't remember much about Brooks, I never did watch much of the Bucs. Either way it'd be hard to find a situation where he wouldn't fit the system here, he's making all these plays when nobody else is without coaching. I brought up the question as to what he could do with great coaching so I hope they find a way to keep him no matter what. Peterson was also MLB who is supposed to be everywhere, Telvin is doing it from OLB which I personally think is more impressive.
Radio personalities going wild over the decision to keep Gus. First time I've seen this, but that's what happens when you suck on national tv.
Which radio personalities?
Quote:Which radio personalities?
On fox sports. Patrick, Eisen, and the guy that comes on afterward. Playing Gus quotes and roasting him. Roasting Khan.
Good, Khan and Gus deserve it at this point

Jay Mohr. Didn't know he was on the radio....
He's roasting Gus, Khan, Bortles, our uniforms, saying we should be relegated to the CFL. Gus said that yesterday didn't meet expectations, and Mohr said "what expectations? You stink?"
Embarrassing.
That's hilarious...it's all fair criticism...Khan is starting to look like a real fool
Khan is a stubborn tool, who seems so intent on proving he belongs and was right all along, that he would not make a change despite all,the evidence that Gus is useless.
Now Khansticks to his guns even more. He won't let media dictate his authority. Pride in the name of love. Love for his ...don't tell me what to do. I'm a successful businessman.

If you have the opportunity to view Online highlights of Derrick Brooks playing Weakside LB, I think you would really appreciate his style of play. The word that comes to mind that fit Derrick Brooks as much as anything as a player is ACTIVE. He had tremendous speed, overall movement skills, instincts, and desire. Brooks probably would be a great LB coach if he wanted to go into coaching.
