* Cough .... Jerry Jones anyone. It is crazy they were covering here that certain players have his cell phone and can bypass the coaches whenever they want.
Hey Gus, what exactly would you say you do here? "I'm a people person dammit."

Khan is new to the whole football business thing. Most people are who haven't, ya know, owned a franchise before.
DC was a rookie GM, who hired a rookie rah rah HC, who assembled a poor staff.
It never ceases to amaze me how foolish you people act around here.
This just in: Khan definitely won't be firing himself.... so... maybe change agendas back to targeting DC or Bortles.
Khan has always said he would let the football people make football decisions. The problem is, he hired the wrong football people.
I heard it was more like" Is one scoop not good enough, will two scoops help you guys win"

Meh... I think Caldwell has done a pretty good job.
I put most of Bortles' regression on coaching staff.
I think Caldwell has done a good job replacing bad draft picks and FAs with better ones each year.
Khan isn't going to step in to fire Gus, he's gonna allow DC to do his job.
And I think DC could get the next HC selection right. And maybe with a better roster than 2012 we could attract a HC with some credentials

This.
He has been a guy who generally stays behind the scenes the entire time he's been our owner. He's now visited with the team
twice in the last month. Just because he's not being all "your fired, and your fired, and you are too" on everyone right now doesn't mean he isn't a great owner/is soft. I think showing up and talking with everyone multiples times in one month asking why we aren't winning is a pretty obvious sign that he isn't happy with what's going on.
All the link shows is that he met with them and asked why we weren't winning. No more details than that. To sit here and assume he's fine with what's happening/isn't in Gus's ear telling him he's gone if things don't change quickly (ultimately a midseason change won't help much, we need a whole new staff to get things right...I'd just prefer to know he's gone like all of you).

True. But if you're wanting the answers being asked, it needs to be done properly. I doubt any of the players are going to point out the coaches; even though I guarantee some are thinking it. He should have spoken with the entire team individually or maybe the leaders to minimize time. It just sounds like a waste of time.

If the chain of command allows the GM to fire the head coach, Dave Caldwell should have fired Gus and whichever staff was responsible for what happened to Bortles' mechanics.
Again, I think Caldwell has picked well, but also kind of expect it to happen picking near the top of the draft his entire tenure, so I don't think he should be placed on a pedestal or anything.
Also, being the next man up after Gene Smith, it isn't really hard to look good.
The talent on this team isn't the problem what so ever. I don't get why this is pointed at Caldwell. Bortles has regressed but that doesn't change the fact when he was mechanically sound last year he threw for 35 TD's and was the QB of a very prominent offense. The coaching staff and Bortles not working all offseason to keep it going like last year is his problem.
Ramsey, Amukamara, Colvin, Gipson, Telvin, Jack, Malik, Ngakoue, Fowler, Big Roy, Marks, Day, A-Rob, Lee, Linder, Cann, Beachum, Hurns were all brought in here. All have shown some very good things/have a ton of talent and are waiting on the right coaching staff to get the results. Talent is so far from the problem it's insane.
There's a reason why every year before training camp the last couple years everyone is expecting us to make a large jump along with the Raiders. It's coaching.

Why do you think that? Marks and Hurns have called out the coaching staff for getting soft/lacking aggressiveness on offense after games before. You don't think they'd say the same thing to the owners face regarding the team? Especially guys like Jalen, Malik, etc. who are already showing signs of being fed up with the staff by not apoligizing/saying they'd do anything different really in the scheme of things just this last week?
Sure, guys like A-Rob, Rashad Greene, and Bortles may not have done it, but there's an obvious rift in the locker room just by looking at what Poz said after we had two players ejected and their responses to what people said.
Further elaboration:
Quote:What makes this meeting a concern for everyone with a job there is it’s the second time in a month he spoke to the team. He talked to them prior to their London game, and they responded with a win that time.

Caldwell should in no way be put on a pedistle, but he also shouldn't be viewed as the problem. Khan has said this is a process and as an owner seems to have wanted to show the whole NFL he wants to be respected as an organization that won't make rash decisions. We don't want to be the Browns and fire a coach 1-1 1/2 years into his tenure when there is a lack of talent and that's just too short of time.
There's plenty of these teams picking high that aren't getting the talent level we are. So that has to be taken into account too.
Khan is a moron then. We all know what the problem is.

I see your points. But to me getting everyone together lessens the chance of getting the true feelings of the players.

No one knows if that's how he did it. The article lacks details. I mean the article even says that.
I highly doubt Khan got up in front of every single coach and player and expected to get real answers from some players while the coaching staff is right there. Obviously a player isn't going to just go off on a large rant with Gus sitting a few rows away from you if he's still going to be your head football coach until further notice. I don't think that's what this articles is suggesting.
If Shad cared, Gus would've been fired immediately after last season.
