I bet they make him a WR.
First [BLEEP] pick. At least it's the 6th round.

Here’s another report on Lee...

“Two year starter at Tulane before transfering to Nebraska for a year. Great measurables, big arm and big frame, but has no feel for the game, doesn't recognise defenses and coverages, major project.”

If Coughlin knows how to do anything, it's coach QBs...and building winning franchises...and win Super Bowls...and stuff.  If it doesn't work out, meh, it's a 6th rounder.
This seems like a total wasted pick. We are going with Bortles and Kessler. All we need are camp arms. And there will be a ton of undrafted free agents you can sign to do that.

Havent been a fan of our two picks so far in day 3.
Guess that means the draft is over.
Not a wasted pick. Bortles is a confidence type QB. Lee will look so bad that Bortles confidence skyrockets leading him to an all pro type season. Caldwell/Coughlin with a genius pick up here. They know a 6th rounder will normally almost never amount to anything so why not spend that selection to boost Bortles into lands we have never seen before. Such a genius move.
Stop panicking... it might not be so bad.

We say he sucks because his stats sucked, but a lot might have played into that.

Watch him on tape. He has a strong, impressive arm with tons of poise in the pocket. Now you don't want him scrambling, but he's got that ability to feel and side-step pressure, and his mechanics appear solid. He also has the size and looks the part.

He's probably third string this year, and we probably don't even need to get a good look at him until mid-season 2019 at the earliest if we're not winning games. I was calling for Luke Falk who the tacks got, but he doesn't have anywhere near the arm strength of Tanner Lee. Let's just see if our staff can work with the guy. They picked him over several other QBs for a reason.
6th round project. Neither impressed nor disappointed. The rest of the draft was too good to be a pessimist.
He's really not that bad. Check out his game vs Purdue...

I'm a Nebraska fan. Let me explain why this is a great pick where value meets needs. Tanner Lee has the ability to see a defense and

I'm just joking. He stinks. I watched this guy throw INTs way too many times. That being said it is a 6th round pick so I'm not losing any sleep.
I just saw Bo Scarborough go off the board. Would have rather used a pick on a guy like that. Might actually make the team.
He reminds me of Chad Henne....

no really, he does.
WOAH...WOAH...WOAH..

HOLD ON GUYS

-im no pro scout. Not even close. But as ive said before i have coached at the high school level under coach Marts who used to play LB for the Jags.

With that said...I was his QB coach. So i do have an eye for certain things involving QBs.

So here is what I see (without looking at stats)

First thing that jumps off to me is his quick back pedal, and footwork. Its outstanding. Hes very light on his feet, and his eyes are always down field.

Secondly, he spins the ball like a football should be spent'
The balk doesnt hang. He mashes the laces in his fingers and he uses his wrist and forearm with a tight and quick release of the ball.

Third, he puts the ball open space. Hes not just out there throwing to WRs....he is actually throwing them open. Thats something you cant teach.

He has touch on the fade. He has great 'medium' velocity. And then he has what we call a rope. Put it on a rope. I saw him throw to backs, WRs and TEs.

Remember, he didnt play at Ohio State or FSU or Florida where all the speedsters are. He had some pedestrian WRs.

He is definately not starter material right now. But if Bortles goes down, then our back up will be better than Henne.

If iI had to compare him to somebody then i would compare him to Kelly Holcombe...maybe Trent Green. With a little bit of Alex Smith.

Hes a quick hitter. He gets the ball out fast...

Heres the bad that i saw:

He is careless. He has good arm stregnth, but hes not gonna get away with careless throws in the nfl.

Sometimes he holds the ball too long instead of throwing it away, he plays hero ball.

He doesnt look safeties and LBs off very well.

Just my "QB" thoughts on our new guy. For those saying he is the worst QB in the draft.....no way.

His stats might not be good, but the nfl dont care about stats from college. Its all about how he projects.
