From PFW, the contract goes on to mention specific events that could void the guarantee. Being suspended for on-field behavior is not among them, while being suspended for off-field behavior is listed. From what I read, he has a good case to overturn the voiding of guarantees.
If you are him, do you want to challenge this? It would be a faster path to the second contract. That said I doubt the NFPLA will let him stand pat.

I've seen nothing to support that and several articles stating the opposite.
The reports I read were that his conditioning suffered post injury but that he was in great shape when he reported to camp.
I don't think I've ever seen a team official say he was in great shape.
I saw that Leonard Fournette touted that he was in great shape - but he's a liar.
Nope. Not buying it.
I followed the times-union guys twitter feeds every day during camp and there were numerous mentions of Fournette looking good, or impressive, or explosive in camp. There was also a take on his coming in lighter and looking even faster from various outlets of the local press.

Yea I remember him being lighter going into camp. The issues with fournette rose from continuously getting injured, then making bad decisions. His character and caring about this team is now in question.
Does being lighter automatically mean he's in better shape?
Maybe he lost weight due to losing muscle mass because looking at him at 240 he doesn't look fat to me.

The issues with Fournette are numerous. I'm just trying to dispel this one thing that seems to be completely born out of numerous people totally misunderstanding the Q&A exchange between Fournette and a reporter a few weeks ago. The question was specifically about his health mid-season after returning from injury. Yet many ignored the details of the question and projected his response to mean he was out of shape when he reported.
If he was out of shape last summer, there sure were a lot of folks claiming the opposite at the time.

They said nothing in that intro about him showing up out of shape.
I'm listening to the entire Mark Long segment now...

Mark accused him of being out of shape in season and also accused him of "not taking care of his body" in the offseason.
Then he backpedaled later.
This is the first thing I've heard anyone accuse him of that after several local press members reported otherwise last summer.
The Frangie show on 12/31 has the whole bit for anyone that wants to hear it.
Later in broadcast - Lauren said she thought he looked like he was in fantastic shape to start the season - and then Mark said "who knows - I'd agree he looked pretty good coming to camp - I look at him now [different story]"

the out of shape part was not what pirked my intrest it was how he acted in the meeting room and not knowing the playbook. That might be why The RB coach was fired.

I'd say that definitely was a factor in that firing.

Those plays or "highlights" were multiple examples og him doing things and showing traits that people said he couldnt do or didnt possess. The man is talented, whether or not you like him lol.
Find me a clip of LF trucking a player without also falling down, there are none - zero contact balance.
Find me a clip of LF making a player miss with lateral agility, there are none because he has none.
He's talented, sure. Just like every single NFL player. But he's not special.

4:00 mark - trucks one guy and is tackled by another member in pursuit (doubt this lives up to your lofty standards though)
See 5:20 mark for a better example, breaks 2 tackles and is held up fighting for more yards as the play is whistled dead (oh em gee he didn't fall down .. but you won't admit you were wrong, it's ok we get it.. Fournette kicked your dog...)
4:14 mark, sticks his foot in the ground with L A T E R A L A G I L I T Y and makes the guy miss.
IB4 you move the goalposts...
Are there actually folks with real doubt that the dude has serious red flags that are problematic? Repeated red flags? Back that up with what boils down to very few games in which he turned in above average stats or displayed elite level skills and you have the beginnings of a bust. Certainly not 1st round value. It is going to take two years of good play and availability to wipe the stink off of him. Really know other way to say it IMO.
Said he unfollowed the jags on twitter and deleted almost all of his jags pics except 8
Best case scenario is he sits down with management and makes a commitment and works his [BLEEP] off and comes back hungrier and healthier than ever.
Availability. Coachability. Scheme.
Fournette and his buddy, Ramsey, are Poster Boys for Marrone’s diagnoses of what went wrong. Ramsey not showing until mandatory and Marrone just low balling it saying , “Jalen has been in contact and he assured me he is getting his work in and will arrive ready,” had me thinking, “Uh oh! Where is the team spirit in that? Are his teammates going to be cool with that?” So I am glad Marrone brought up the importance of being, “in the building” for ALL team practice and training whether voluntary or mandatory.

If we trade Fournette I think we should cut Hyde and go after Tevin Coleman
FA RB is soooo deep. Coleman would be good, but I think we could go even cheaper with a Spencer Ware or I especially love Mike Davis. But also Alex Collins or Latavius Murray. Plenty of others that have shown skills in short bursts that could shine with a bigger workload. We can clean house in the RB room and still be perfectly fine.

It's hilarious you think that's impressive.
Watch ANY game of Gurley or Elliot. They will have those plays and 3 more. EVERY. SINGLE. GAME.

Absolutely. It says a lot that there are a bunch of short runs that don't even get first Downs in his highlights.
