It's a left knee injury requiring surgery.  The team is putting him on the IR, so I would assume it's probably an ACL.  They don't have to release the granular details of the injury.  The fact that he's done for the season is all that matters.

With Joeckel moving to the IR, we should get an extended opportunity to see what Omameh can do.  He looked good in both of his stints this season, so hopefully he can only improve upon that.

Really?  Google has multiple reports that the team is putting him on the IR.  How do you think people on this forum are going to know before Google?  If it's on Twitter, it's almost simultaneously on Google.

I would like to take this opportunity to remind FBT of his signature.

Apparently everyone is just assuming he tore his ACL because of the words "season ending." If the diagnosis was officially reported, somebody would have posted it by now.
The team has not confirmed it's an ACL tear. He could be placed on IR designated to return. We do not know at this point. Maybe he just needs a meniscus clean up.

Jaguars LG Luke Joeckel headed to IR with left knee injury

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. --The team announced Tuesday that Joeckel, who injured his knee against Indianapolis in London, will be placed on injured reserve and have surgery. Details about the surgery will come after its completion.

The injury could mean Joeckel, the second overall draft pick in 2013, has played his final game in Jacksonville. The Jaguars declined to pick up a fifth-year option in his rookie contract and signed free agent Kelvin Beachum to a five-year, $45 million contract to compete with Joeckel at left tackle.

Beachum won the job, and Jacksonville slid Joeckel inside to guard. It's unlikely the team would bring him back in 2017, especially considering he would be coming off knee surgery.

Josh Wells and Jeffrey LInkenbach will be eligible to come off IR in a couple weeks. Just keep in mind you can only bring back one player per season.

There is no designation to return anymore. They can just activate him if it is not a torn ACL.

That is eligibility to practice, not play. The chosen player will to wait two more weeks to appear in games. Fortunately the eight weeks includes this one.

heard it was the worst knee concussion in nfl history
Is she makin ya'll wanna gouge out your eyes and dunk your head in a vat of vinegar yet?

That's just a Tuesday...
Best case is to bring him back next year on a cheap 2 year deal. He may never be a starter but I'd like having his ability as a 25-26 year back up guard/tackle...
I was wishing the best for Joeckel this season regardless of where he played but as fate would have it's way, he won't be playing any position for the remainder of the season except the rehab position...

NH3...

You couldn't tell any difference in the play of he or Joekel. Our O-line had a great game, albeit against a shotty colts team, but still. I'm not too worried about Omameh coming in relief.
I don't even care, Omameh played just as good, if not better than Jokes.

Omameh wasn't perfect but he plays pretty physical. I like that for a Guard. Luke was just too finesse for me.
