Why they kept him over wells is a mystery.

My best guess is that Wells never got to 100% after last season’s injuries.
But I’m just as confused.

OL decision making may be my biggest gripe with the jags FO and staff from a personnel perspective.

Neglect and missing on picks along that line has created losses.

So who's "Buddy" was Warhop?
Marrone’s

We're judging Wells on last season's play, so maybe injuries have taken a toll, and he probably has a higher salary than the players the Jags choose to keep. But the other backups have been worse this preseason. At least they cut Wester too.

Reavis has been the 3rd best safety and a solid tackler all preaseason, so that cut makes no sense at all.

Jones has outplayed Bryan and Smoot, but they are both Jags draft picks. Bryan was never going to be cut.

Completely agree.

For some reason, the team seems to like Ogbuehi.

But Jones is the cut that puzzles me the most.  To me, Datone Jones was the most productive lineman this preseason.

They keep talking about Ogbuehi's athleticism and feet. Yes, he is athletic, but he also lacks functional strength and balance and that allows bull rushers to blow right past him. Why can't they see this?
I am hoping they claim Josh Adams RB out of Philly... i cannot believe they released him. Wendel Smallwood would be a nice addition if someone gets Adams ahead of us.
I hope this team is better than it looks on paper

I sense an incoming claim.

Potential releases to make room:

Josh Robinson
Giles-Harris
Ankou
Russell

Also Brandon Thomas (boselli nailed that he would be on the roster by the way) if they manage to find a quality OL out there (ideally I was hoping they'd try and trade for a solid backup like Vaitai who can play multiple positions and is better than Thomas or others). Or Koyack after Oliver comes back.

Like others have said I hope they try to claim Josh Adams, would be instantly the 2nd RB on the roster and a great addition.
OL should always be a priority, though that's more likely to happen with a trade as there's not much out there. But Ogbuhei as backup LT is pretty scary.
Same goes with TE.

I wonder if there's any veteran they plan to sign after week 1.
I liked Reavis over Wingard.
all in all....we may be in better shape overall than we think.
We'll know in the first three games.
Scratching my head on a few of these cuts. Meeks and McBride, Hayes, Reavis, basically the only guys making plays in preseason.

So we have the 53.

Let's go Jags.
I still have major worries at the drop off at RB and LB. If we lose Fournette or Jack we are screwed. Hopefully someone can step up but compare that RB group to last years with Yeldon, Grant, hell even Hyde. Not even close.

We cant be a run first team. Look fairly strong elsewhere, D line is insane. Hoping TE's can step up.

I doubt they'll be going into the season with only 3 RB on this roster, especially since Blue has been dealing with an ankle sprain. I'd be shocked if they aren't focused on the waiver wire at that position.

Pretty sure this is what got Reavis cut:

McCoy cut by the Bill's, Bo Scarborough cut by Seattle, I like Doss from Oakland and see Treadwell got released by Vikings.

Pretty sure this is what got Reavis cut:

One play where Reavis (a safety) failed to cover a WR after being slowed in the crossover is a poor reason to cut him. I saw several plays where Wingard was faked out of his jock. Reavis should have made the team instead of Wingard.
How is Wingard in the final 53? Terrible in space. Could be a fun season until the first sign of injuries.. then it's going to be a watch at your own risk team.
Personally, I would make a run at OT Dan Skipper and Cole Croston. Both got cut by the Patriots and I thought they played really well when I watched them. They both would represent a significant upgrade over Ogbuehi.
I also wouldn't mind taking a look at receivers DeMaryius Thomas, Keelan Doss and Jazz Ferguson. These guys have size, athleticism and all had strong preseasons. Thomas would give us a veteran presence as well.
If we want TE depth, I'd give Chris Herndon a try. He has flashed for the Jets.
I watched RB Jeremy McNichols and he had a strong preseason. I'd feel way more comfortable if he was backing up Fournette.
Finally, we must sign one of these QB's, Brian Hoyer, Kyle Lauletta or Kyle Sloter.
Damn, Lesean McCoy gone to the Chiefs. Could be a nice mix in that backfield.

KC 9/8 @ 1pm
Texans 9/15 @ 1pm
Titans 9/19 @ 8:20pm

I’ll honestly be happy if we can win 1 out of 3. So hopefully we kept the right guys.

I predict the Jags just miss beating KC, kick the [BLEEP] out of the tinhorns, and edge out the flaming [BLEEP] thumbtacks.

2&1 headed into mile high, where they win again.

Apparently it’s really hard to win in Denver. Anyone know if this is actually true? Too lazy to look up stats

I really don't know what the Chargers are thinking. They are allowing Melvin Gordon to seek a trade, yet they don't go after McCoy. They need someone to replace him and I don't think Ekeler or Jackson will fill that hole that he leaves.
