If we somehow get the top pick this staff will ruin Lawrence.
We need a whole new staff. We need a defensive coordinator who will use players to their strengths. I hope we get a 3-4 guy and we can move Chaisson to OLB.
We desperately need one of the top safeties. Look like we will have a 2nd pick in the 20s with the Rams

I disagree. We need to spend our earlier picks for guys up front, both on Offense and on D. We need to add a OT and then go to DT and DE. No DBs will succeed with the pathetic excuse for a defensive line that we have right now. Gotta construct a building from the bottom up, not the other way around.

Boy I tell you what... if Lawrence is the prospect many believe him to be. "Generational" etc. He shouldn't be able to be ruined.
He's supposed to come in and be good right away and make everyone around him look better. OL, receivers, everything.
I wasn't big on TLaw last year but watching him this year I've certainly come around. I don't care who is GM or coach, if we land Lawrence we'll be a better team immediately.

Gabber wasn't really ever that good,i never saw potiontial in him like i saw in bortles ,and minshew. Marrone has ruined the Jaguars just like i tried to warn you all about. 1 lucky winning seasoons, and stright into toliet just like when he was with bills. you don't hire quiters.

I agree, he's going to make the Jets into a relevant team again.
Since I don't think we'll get the #1 pick... the next question is what do we do if we get the #2?
Do we take Justin Fields? Draft Sewell and try to trade for a QB like Darnold?

Draft Sewell

Personally, right now, I'm not taking Fields #2. I draft Sewell and let Cam Robinson walk. Then I see what QB is available in the 20s (Trask or Wilson, perhaps)
Maybe we don't draft a QB in round one. Maybe we get Ryan Fitzpatrick, or Andy Dalton or something like that... Though, excitement for that type of move would be non existent.
I'm NOT trading draft capital for Darnold. Even a 3rd or 4th.
After the B10 plays their season out though, I may be more inclined to draft Fields. Just too small of a sample size right now to make that pick. Sewell is about as sure of a thing at LT as we'll see.

Wow, how things have changed. Team has completely fallen apart and we're likely to finish 3-13 at best.
I don't see another 2 wins out of this team. I do see one late in the season though. Our track record in screwing up great opportunities is pretty well established. That being said, I do think the Jets will win at least one game accidentally between now and the end of the season. Right now, we're picking #2 in the draft based on how the games played out this week according to 1010XL.

Were you the one who had made the threads about Marrone when he got hired? Its crazy because I kind of felt that way because of how he messed up in Buffalo but I thought a new start might help but he was the same exact coach. You were 100 % correct

QB is not something you can address typically outside of the first round. There have been some lucky finds, but if we want a QB we need to pick early.
I also think we have a ton of holes, but QB is a hole you can’t win without addressing.
So what is the tiebreaker for worst team.

yes i was,i haven't liked the hireing of doug since jags hired him. if hes not fired ever i wouldn't be surpised to see him quit.

Fill us in on why he quit with the Bills. I'll bet that you can't.

Tankathon has us currently at #4 with tiebreakers.
ESPN Power Index has us picking #2 based on how the season should play out.
As it stands, if the Jets win a game we should be able to pull ahead of them because they will have a tougher SOS. We need to be more concerned with Washington and NYG in my opinion because I don't see how either of them wins more than one more game (when they play each other again) and they will both have an easier SOS than us by season end if all plays out right.
One thing is for sure, there is a fight for the #1 pick between several teams.
LOL. Draft position discussion 6 weeks into the season.
On top of that, the #1 selection doesn't really mean a whole lot. In my opinion the last "great" QB taken #1 overall was Peyton Manning in 1998. Since then the only good "franchise" QB taken #1 is Mathew Stafford in 2009. You might be able to throw Andrew Luck in there, but his career was cut pretty short.

He said he quit cause team changed owners, plus he knew the new owner was going to fire him. He felt quiting would be better for him cause he didn't want to get fired.
he had a loseing record with bills he was 15-17 as well. doug is nothing but a quiter, and loser, and now he has the jags quiting. I am sure yan would still be here as well as campel,no one wants to play for a loser HC that knows better. the ones playign now are to young to understand doug is a loser. he shouldn't of never been hired.

Strength of schedule. Weaker sos wins.
