My wife and I bought a house in Green Cove last year.. We got tired of the hustle and bustle of city life of Jacksonville. Too many people for us. I imagine a lot of people in our age group feel the same.. We don't care for downtown life, but it's nice to visit once in a while..
So, I really don't know that much about Lot J, but I wonder if any of you can answer this question:
Is it possible that Lot J can bring in enough extra revenue on game days that Khan would no longer want to play games in London?

With the pandemic, that whole London thing may be a thing of the past..

That's just the thing, we could be in a pandemic lockdown for at least another year or two from what I've been reading.. And with TLaw coming to town, that could provide the economic boost to this franchise that could make Khan rethink London.. It's all about the revenue..

I'm asking a specific question. Can
Lot J bring in enough extra revenue on game days that Khan would no longer want to play games in London?

imho.. definitely..
Edit: But I also think that depends if we're allowed to fill the stadium next year and the following year..

No, not even remotely close.

I seem to recall Khan making an argument to that effect.
The London games were supposed to bridge the gap until the whole stadium area made the Jaguars more viable.

I don't think we can know that at this point. He did say that the London games brings in about 20% of the teams total "home" revenues so it's substantial but it's not like it couldn't be made up through other streams. I did notice that London seems to be a little less of a topic now since the contract expired. We'll see where that goes.

London has 10 times the population of Jacksonville. It's already major tourist destination and a stepping stone to much of Europe. I see absolutely no way to compete with the potential it offers.
Playing anything outside of the US has dropped from the spotlight during covid, but it will become an issue again once the virus is under control.

Not anymore. London lost a lot of its value when it left the European Union.
I'm sure the NFL still badly wants to spread around the world, but it would work much better heading north and south than so far to the east.

Yes you're right if you compare it straight up but my response was more about a single game and whether Jax could make up the revenue difference for that single game with alternative revenue sources.
The lot J bill has failed to reach its votes to pass for the project 12 yes and 7 no. I truly hate my City sometimes and wonder why we can't never have nice things.
Win first, then extend the stadium lease, then we can talk about Lot J again
"The people who were against the vote were Council Members Matt Carlucci, Al Ferraro, Danny Becton, and Council President Tommy Hazouri.
Hazouri said that he is worried about the bill, and how the administration and the Jacksonville Jaguars made the deal."
Tommy Haz, was and always will be a joke.. You won't get anything done with that tool in office.. He's been throwing monkey wrenches in city plans and agendas for a long, long time..

This is my thinking as well. I’m sure Khan understands the losing fatigue of the city which breeds skepticism.
Build a winning program, demonstrate the team can sustain success for more than one season and then renegotiate. With a high visibility player like Lawrence bringing more visibility to the city, Khan will get Lot J.

BS and this gives Shad Khan the perfect excuse to put more games in London and to relocate this team out of Jacksonville. I just wish the racist people in this city would get out of their own way and allow this city to evolve in the 21st century
So why did they vote it down? Was it that bad of a deal for the city?
