They were more than patient here in Cincy and Lovie Smith never produced. He was so wishy-washy in his press conferences, he basically had no control over his players. They did what they wanted on and off the field with no repercussions. He is not a leader.

Lovie coached in Cincy?  Don’t remember that and can’t find anywhere in his bio where he was a D coordinator or position coach there.  Perhaps you are confusing him with Marvin Lewis?
Lovie was CHI

Right and I wouldn’t call taking your team to the Super Bowl “never producing” so I’m presuming he’s got the two mixed up.
Lovie-Chicago
Cincy-Marvin Lewis

I can't believe this. Since I've had Covid a couple of months ago, my memory hasn't been the same (not that it was much to begin with.) I've mixed Marvin Lewis up with Lovie Smith. What the hell is wrong with me? Sorry about that. That's embarrassing.

I know someone else dealing with that same side effect.  No need to apologize and best wishes on a full and speedy recovery.

Thanks. It's more embarrassing than anything else.
Lovie had decent success in Chicago. My only concern is him being defensive minded if I am a tinhorns fan. Peter King said it best today in that Spielman discussion.

90% of coaches that are fired tend to have a common denominator. And that denominator is poor QB play or a bad QB situation overall. Lovie made it to a SB with Rex Grossman and Kyle Orton as his QBs. That's on the GM. Not Lovie. He had the same problem in Tampa.

I don't know what is. Defensive minded coaches [Del Rio, Rivera, Zimmer, Lewis, etc] just seem to never pull it off anymore but they keep decent teams up to snuff.

I take it you survived the OG or Delta version. Hat tip to you and hang in there. The way that thing could pass the blood brain barrier and supress immunity responses is crazy and going to be studied for decades. My daughter has the confusing thoughts aa well.

Thank goodness I avoided it until Omni version that was more contained and didn't have the same immunity suppression. I am severly lung compromised so I did well overall.

Blessings to everyone.
It’s kind of interesting to me how little overlap there has been with nine teams looking for head coaches. It seems like most of the candidates that got hired only had one or two serious suitors.

That and as much balleyhoo as fans gave the Jaguars for dragging out the process, several other teams did as well.

That said, the Texans and dolphins should have never had a coaching search to begin with. Firing Culley and Flores were just head scratchers

Lol, its alright, I got a pretty big laugh out of that.
Not sure what I think about it. Non Jags twitter is roasting it, but a former HC who has a history with QBs seems like a solid get for QB coach to me. Idk.
So likely Pederson, McCoy, and Press trio?

I have zero feelings either way hahaha
Damn, nice get at QB coach. McCoy with a lot of experience

Been coaching since 2000. Lots of experience as QB coach and OC, as well as 4 years of being a HC like you said. Seems hes hasn't coached in the league since 2018.

I don't see anything wrong with it as a QB coach.
