That's kind of ironic since our offense was loaded with experienced NFL coaches and the offense was boring as stagnant as you would expect with a good ole boys club staff, while the defense had Cullen and a bunch of new blood and they were far better.

I think ideally we want a mix, but I really wish we could get a progressive up and coming OC to be the next McVay/Shanny/Lafleur type of rock star OC...someone like Joe Brady/Kafka/Dorsey. Doesn't sound like that is happening though.

If Dougs going to call the plays I’m not sure how any of us could really know if we have a stud oc or not it’s what’s he’s doing in the meeting room where he’s going to be judged and we’ll never know on that.
Can't be worse than Warhop! That all22 dude said Breiner would be a great QB coach so getting him in an even lower capacity seems good to me, I'll take his word for it.

So the Caldwell hire for DC isn't official yet I guess. Twitter seems to think Alexander would be a great hire too, would be nice to bring one home.

Shipley mentioned passing game coordinator?

Shouldn't it be called pass prevention coordinator or something?

So the D coordinators are shaping up.

DC- Caldwell
DL- Buckner
LB- Gilbert
Passing game/secondary- Alexander

I'm digging this. Also speculation that Buckner may be bringing Chandler Jones too.

And Jim Bob Cooter.
RB coach to passing game coordinator...interesting.
JBC? Wow! The guy definitely liked volume passing.
I absolutely love how Pederson is building his coaching staff. I look at him and think “Wow, this guy knows exactly what he wants.”
High praise for Alexander from Jason McCourty

I know Minnesota's O-Line hasn't been much, but I gotta agree. Anything is better than Warhop, so it's still an upgrade.

Certainly coming together nicely.

Pederson is indeed being aggressive with who he's after and it's so refreshing tbh.

Why would you use the word "aggressive?" How is it different than any other staff being filled?

Pederson is a breath of fresh air after last year.  I don't think we'll see a Chris Doyle or Tim Tebow or a "deep dive" into how the NFL works.  Pederson is obviously prepared and competent, and seems to be hitting the ground running.  An experienced, successful NFL head coach with his friendly personality will have lots of friends in the coaching community who want to come here and coach with him.

I agree, but I don't think his approach to hiring his staff is really more "aggressive" than others.

But nobody said he was more aggressive.  Just aggressive.  Not exactly the word I would pick, but pretty close.  He's doing it pretty quickly.
