Agreed, our team is buit to stopp the run.
Many people look at needs as a straight list.  I prefer to break needs down into whether you need a starter or you need a backup or both.  Occasionally teams get lucky, but it is hard to find starters on day 3 of the draft.  This is going to be particularly true for the Jaguars as we don't have a fourth round pick and our fifth rounder (because of trade) isn't until the middle of the round.  The few good names we see out there are likely to be gone by the time we pick.

At this point, my emphasis is on who will make the 53 man roster.  A draft pick is worthless if they don't make the team.  Forget about the practice squad.  You have to cut the player before signing them to the practice squad.  A player can only make your practice squad if all 31 other teams don't want the player for their 53 man roster.  I would look to trade up as I don't see a ton of players where a late round pick would be a lock to make the roster.

I would have liked a quality wide receiver and tight end to be possible (future) starters.  Can we get that with a mid 5th round pick?  If so, great, but I find that highly iffy.  You also have to consider who we would need to cut to make room for this late round pick.  In the case of wide receiver, it would be Treadwell.  Are you confident your late round receiver will be better than Treadwell?  Even if it's an upgrade, is it a significant upgrade?  Tight end would be Farrell, so you can make a better case there.

As for other positions, I would probably look at:

Running Back:  I definitely think we should take one and maybe two.  This is a position that has fallen in the draft.  We lost Hyde and Ogunbowale in the off-season and gained nothing unless you count the mid-season acquisition of Armstead.  One running back is likely to make the team and the other would be competition for Armstead.  We also have injury concerns with our top two running backs so it would be good to have depth.

Guard/Center:  Assuming we keep 9 offensive lineman, I see one depth spot for guard/center as being open.  If we get lucky and he can compete with Bartch, great, but don't expect that this late in the draft.  However, interior offensive linemen sometimes do fall to the late rounds.

Kicker:  We need competition for Wright.  I've heard some say that there isn't a kicker worth drafting, but I like the idea of getting the best option there is and letting them compete.  I'm interested in the kicker from LSU. The knock has been that he doesn't kick off, but everyone says he has a strong leg.  LSU used a kickoff specialist because they felt anyone can do it and that they didn't want to risk injury to York because he was too valuable in terms of field goals.

Cornerback:  This one is iffy, but I don't like Claybrooks or Herndon.  I thought they got abused last year.  Keep in mind that Claybrooks was originally a 7th rounder and Herndon was undrafted. I don't know if late round picks would win a roster spot, but they would at least provide competition.  However, if we were to keep all of our picks, this position would be a consideration.

Again, I would like to trade up, if possible.  I would prefer quality over quantity at this point.
Kyren Willliams is more of a 3rd down back but would love to see him in teal.
They need to make a move up now and they need to make it quick. A lot of the best players left are flying off the board now.
Waiting for ever to pick.

I agree.  Realistically we should target K and RB.  If we can trade the rest of the 7th and 6th round picks to move up to the 5th, that would be great.  In that case take 2 RBs.
41 or so picks to go.

Balkie is probably asleep at the wheel on cruise control all the way to the 5th round pick.
Lotta guys I had no interest in going lately, so thats good
4th round kicker. Nice!

He's barely worth drafting.
Bellinger and Kolar gone. TE class is basically over.

James Mitchell with one of the 6ths would be about all I wouldn't hate now.

Isaiah Likely
Let's get Salyer
Romeo Doubs to Green Bay. That's a very good pick this late.

I agree. He's an odd tweener. I don't know how he would fit. He's a project for sure. Maybe you take a shot at him, let him sit behind Arnold, Engram, etc. for a year. He needs to bulk up to handle body blows over the middle if he's going to be a TE though. He's certainly an F tight end. He would need to be moved around quite a bit to create some kind of clean release or miss match.

I'm disappointed.  I was hoping we could get him as a late round pick.  We have a desperate need at kicker and a bunch of late rounds picks that otherwise present little value to us.

I do like seeing punters go off the board.
