The teal pants and white jersey curse is real.

We owe the 'horns a full beat down like we put on the clots.
In fact, we owe them many.   Tongue
I have a feeling this one's gonna be a bloodbath. We're gonna blow the doors off of them before halftime.
Tyson Campbell

Tyson Campbell had his toughest assignment of the season in Week 4, having to matchup with both DeVonta Smith and A.J. Brown. He turned in a performance where he allowed two passes caught for 24 yards on four targets. He had a major pass breakup on Brown on a pivotal fourth-down at the end of the game and had consistent coverage even on plays he wasn't targeted on. It was a good day for the rising cornerback.
In terms of the play calling, there's a couple of different things that opened it to criticism.  19 runs versus 23 passes doesn't sound that lopsided.  On a sunny day, maybe it's not.  However, we were playing in heavy rain and heavy wind.  The Jaguars used passing plays 55% of the time versus the Eagles who passed only 33% of the time.  The Eagles' strategy seemed smarter to many at the time.  The Eagles then "coincidentally" win.

You also need to keep in mind that the 19 running plays included two runs by Lawrence and one by Kirk.  Our running backs only ran 16 times (8 for JRob and 8 for ETN) or about 38% of the time.

We also gave up on James Robinson very early.  He opened the game with a decent 5 yard run before Pederson  decided to throw the ball on 2nd and 5 and 3rd and 5 which resulted in incompletions and the punt.  People were already questioning why he skipped over a couple of good run opportunities in favor of the pass in heavy rain.

On our second possession, it was wonderful.  Pederson did what he should do.  We focus on JRob and mix in the pass.  We ran JRob 5 times and mixed in the pass 3 times.  The result?  We march 80 yards down the field and score a touchdown!  We found a formula that worked, so what do we do?  We completely abandon it!!!  This was only our second possession of the game and still in the first quarter.  We ran JRob only TWO TIMES for the entire rest of the game and one of them was a meaningless run to kill the final 26 seconds of the first half.  I was wondering if he was injured, but we did use him once in the third quarter, again I emphasize the word ONCE.  Why?  Why?  Why?  Is it because he fumbled once?  If so, we are lowering ourselves to the stupidity of the Urban Meyer era.

You’re playing games by quoting percentages rather than presenting the data.  Pederson said it best post game when he noted that the Jags didn’t have enough opportunities because those turnovers killed too many drives.  Better ball protection is required.

Jag:
  Pass: 11/23
  Run: 19
  Total plays: 42

PHI:
  Pass: 16/25
  Run: 50
  Total plays: 75

There’s not secret sauce.  Five turnovers killed too many drives.  And the fewer chances we had the more risks we had to take.  A string of five (from memory) straight incomplete short passes killed every drive in the second and third quarters that didn’t end in a turnover.

The Jags simply did not have enough opportunities because they did not maintain possession of the ball.  Philly played in the same rainstorm and lost the ball only one time.  They played in the same storm and fumbled only once rather than five times.  Ball security, pure and simple, was the issue in that game.  Not game plan.

Jag’s drives:
Q1
1: Three and out
2: Touchdown
Q2
3: Fumble
4: Three and out
5: Fumble
6: One play to end the half
Q3
7: Three and out
8: Interception
Q4
9: Fumble
10: Touchdown
11: Fumble

10 drives (we won’t count the 1 play drive to end the first half)
5 killed by turnovers
3 three and outs
2 drives for touchdowns

Ball security. The discussion begins and ends there. And the hill that Jax had to climb is also reflected in starting field position. Jags average start? The 23 yard line. PHI? The 38.
Jags better win this. And I hope texans wear their battle red, cause we gonna murder them on the field.

Keep the Eagles game out of this thread. It's done. Jags lost. Time to break an ugly streak with the Texans. It will happen this game. Jags will win.

Yea. Including Doug Pederson….
The tinhorns have one of the worst ranked defenses currently in the NFL. 29th in yards allowed. 17th in points allowed. They are the worst team at the moment in pass defense. As much as we would like to see more of the running game this Sunday?

I think Pederson's going to continue living by his mantra. "Throw to score. Run to win". I think he's going to come out like he always does with Lawrence in the gun or some type of spread/RPO option. I think it's encouraging what we saw out of Agnew though in last week's game.

Even with Zay Jones returning back into the line up you would have to think they have to continue to find ways to get Agnew the ball. He's too quick and too dynamic to limit to just kick off and punt return duties. At some point we need to see Agnew, Robinson and Etienne all out on the same play.

Really haven't see too much, if not, any of that so far this year. Get the defense so concerned with their backfield and short yardage specialists that they [BLEEP] around and find out that you can't let a veteran like Marvin Jones slip off your radar and he's sneaking 30 yards downfield behind the secondary for a big pass play.

It's coming man. This offense is getting there. Week by week Pederson is wrinkling this in, hammering this out, etc. It's only a matter of time before you start seeing Lawrence consistently do what he did in the opener and out in L.A on a more consistent basis. Two in a row was a great start. Let's make it [BLEEP] five in a row starting this Sunday.

Yep, and I guarantee he wished he would of done a few things differently.  Some though still think it was a good game plan even after, now knowing it wasn't is the bad part.

Where do you see this?  I think they have one of the better young secondaries in the league with Stingley, Petrie, and Hughes is also a good pass rusher.  I'd feel much better about running the ball where they really have nothing at DT or LB . They have some young really good players in that secondary

The percentages he quoted were data presented. It's not like he cherry picked situational data or said anything false.

Care to elaborate the gamesmanship in what was stated?

Idk about weekly, but on the season the rank right around where we do in passing yards allowed. They are second to last in rushing yards allowed though so we should be able to exploit that. (Both according to ESPN team stats)

Their roster, they have nothing at DT or LB.  I hope Doug does take advantage of that.

visiting teams usually wear white around the league.

There's the odd chance that we opted to wear white at home for one of the matches, but it's rare.
Sunday is legends day, Trevs bday and also Tony gets his HOF ring. We better win because if not it will be very depressing. We need to break the streak

We should go ahead and score 71 in Tony's honor.
