At no point in his career has Trevor sucked. He has had some bad games. I guess you can argue that is semantics but all Trevor has done is win. He put up with Urban’s BS for a year and even then he still didn’t suck. He was the adult in the room and the most talented player we had on offense. Now Urban is gone and he is back to his winning ways.
Yes, he was bad against Denver in London. It hurt like hell even more for me because I flew out there for it for my first London game but even then you should have never looked at him at thought that he sucks. That Denver game is just a thing of the past now. He will surely have some future games where he doesn’t perform up to his capabilities. But he will never suck.

Most folks just own their bad takes and admit they were wrong.
That's a pretty easy way to prevent ones idiocy being dragged back out into the light.
I know I've had to do that a number of times around here.
I can rattle off a dozen Jags topics I was dead wrong about.
Y'all can call me out for being a jerk to this clown that loves to bash Trevor Lawrence.
That's fair. I don't mind. I think it's funny that he can't just admit he was wrong.
I also find it funny that we had a new guy bugger off after a week or two claiming to be attacked after he basically called out the Jags GM, the coaches, multiple draft picks, and ownership as "bad" in some way.
Were those opinions supposed to be met with sunshine and rainbows from Jaguars fans who just saw their team make a playoff appearance when most expected 6 or 7 wins?
LOL
"People don't agree with me!! Wahhh!"
I guess thin skin serves no one well among the old interwebs.
I'd say I'd try to tone it down, but I probably won't.
..........
I was using sarcasm when I said hospitable.
You're right if someone is saying something like "Your opinions are wrong and mine are right!!" that's not very friendly and people would obviously attack that if it turns out they were wrong. The issue is IF I said " I think Evan Engram's production out of the TE position is replaceable via Pederson and Lawrence", that's just an opinion. But the Jungle mob would attack that like madfish, bashing your intelligence and just belittling you to no end, instead of just discussing it if your interested, and ignoring it if you aren't.
People need to do better.
Part of this is who you pay attention to. There is informed, civil banter between some on the board without resorting to namecalling. There is also juvenile, ignorant fools that aren't really looking to enhance the conversation.
Some of us like to wear multiple hats, some of us are never serious, and some of us can't take a joke. You get all kinds around here. It can be enjoyable if you avoid wallowing in the mire.
This board gets a little hostile at times but it generally full of solid opinions and some great scouting reports on guys who the average fan may not even have on their radar. Everyone is, of course, entitle to their opinion.
But when you come to a Jacksonville Jaguars message board and say that Trevor Lawrence 'sucks'. Expect most fans and individuals who understand the NFL to meet those comments with push back. Expect it even more when you double down on those takes. Words have meaning.
Regardless if you think he is the next GOAT or just a top 15 guy - he is our guy. We are finally building something that isn't embarrassing in Jacksonville and a massive amount of that is due to us being fortunate enough to draft Trevor.
GO JAGS!

If anyone on here thinks that Trevor Lawrence is a top 15 quarterback is an idiot and don't know football. He's a top 5 quarterback and top 7 at worst.

I had this argument at work recently. It was during the probowl announcement and I said a top 5 QB should be in regardless. To which everyone initially was like "no way is Trevor a top 5 QB" So I'm like ok who's ahead of him?
Mahomes
Allen
Burrow
Hurts
Then who do you put above him? Herbert who he beat twice this year? Tua? Goff? Give me Trevor over those 3 any day.
After I spelled that out for them, they backtracked and said they'd all take Herbert over him (no surprise) but I made a good point on it. They conceded he's "top 10 at minimum"

Who really thinks Hurts is unequivocally above Trevor?
When I think about QB ranking I think about who could swap teams and do better than who.
For Trevor there's only one QB that I'm convinced would do better than him if they swapped teams, and that's Mahomes.
Josh Allen and Joe Burrow? Maybe, but I'm not without doubt that they'd be as good with the Jaguars roster as they are with their own team, or that Trevor wouldn't also throw for 35 TDs if he were throwing to their receivers.
Hurts? He's on a nice run in a similar way to how Lamar Jackson has been, but I could see him being the next Kaepernick as easily as being the next Steve Young.

I might flip A. A. Ron for Hurts, but no telling if he'll even be in the league next season. (A. A. Ron, not Jalen.)

When I think about QB ranking I think about who could swap teams and do better than who.
For Trevor there's only one QB that I'm convinced would do better than him if they swapped teams, and that's Mahomes. Mahomes is an alien, agreed.
Josh Allen and Joe Burrow? Maybe, but I'm not without doubt that they'd be as good with the Jaguars roster as they are with their own team, or that Trevor wouldn't also throw for 35 TDs if he were throwing to their receivers. I do completely agree. Give Trevor the weapons Burrow has? They'd be in similar situations. Allen is an enigma, but I've said many times, I think he has a short window of success. His play style is too reckless and dangerous. He's on a Cam Newton path IMO. Buffalo also missed their SB window, they're in a at least a two year rebuild at this point.
Hurts? He's on a nice run in a similar way to how Lamar Jackson has been, but I could see him being the next Kaepernick as easily as being the next Steve Young. I think Hurts will have more sustained success than Lamar, Philly is a good fit for him, but still, if he ever slows down with his legs or gets injured, can they beat you without the threat of the QB run? He's capable of it, but not nearly as much of a threat without that ability. Much like Lamar (and to a degree Allen), I'm not a fan of QBs who rely so much on their legs. I think Mahomes has the perfect blend of scrambling.

Actually, if you look at his stats, he did suck in 2021. He had a passer rating of 71.9 with 12 TDs and 17 ints. Everyone gives him a pass because of the Urban Meyer disaster but how can one state that at no point in his career has Trevor sucked and all Trevor has done is win when he was 3-14 in 2021, which was the worst record in the NFL. I get the mulligan thing with Urban, but I'm just stating he was not good in 2021 and all they did was lose.
Boy I love the offseason. Did not expect to have a top 5 QB debate going on in a Josh Allen thread hahahah

Josh Allen's cap hit this year is $10,892,000. If he signs a new contract right now, I think his cap hit would probably be cut in half.
