Well they also have the best TE of All Time and the best DT in the league along with a top 3 oline. With that said we played them twice last year in KC and they beat us by one score both times. I don't think they have improved and we have and the game is in Jax. I think we win
Valid points and I like your optimism. My biggest concern is the Chiefs won’t need a few games to get in mid-season form. They always start hot. Can we immediately carry over from last year is the big question or will it take us a few games to get in a groove?
Need to be able to run the ball. If the run game is there, the offense will be great.

I am still disappointed that this wasn't tagged as a SNF game though. It's a [BLEEP] divisional round play-off game rematch for [BLEEP]'s sake. Can't wait to watch 1 quarter of a few boring [BLEEP] Dallas or New York Giants SNF games this year though.
If we smoke the Chiefs at home in week two though it would set-up one hell of a headline going into week three and I honestly don't know if I want that pressure for the team that early. LOL. I don't think the wheels would come off. Doug would probably keep everybody cool, collected, etc.
But, man, that week two game can't get here fast enough. I know, I know. Don't look too far ahead. But, that's one of the few games this year where you'll really get a feel as to whether or not this team is challenging for another play-off run because if you can go toe-to-toe with Mahomes and Chiefs? You can go toe-to-toe with anybody.
if we smoke the chiefs? SMOKE the chiefs?
man what you smokin?

Jonathan Taylor not playing against us
Makes it an easier dub-ya to get

The Indy offense has so many question marks with rookie QB, Taylor's holdout/trade request, Pittman still have it?, any other pass catchers. It will be a good test of the defense to check for communication and doing your job, and if they can actually generate some pressure which should cause more issues against an offense with that many questions. I do worry about the deep ball though. Pierce has some speed and AR has the arm to throw them up there, so it will be all about the secondary doing their job and making the Colts execute, which you wouldn't expect them to be able to do.
I think the key is just outright owning this game from the first whistle to the final whistle. I understand it's a divisional game. However, I really want to see this team win on every level. I want the offense to dominate. I want the defense to dominate. I don't want to see McManus unless it's a PAT or going into halftime for a last second FG. I don't want Cooke out there at all.
This is a statement game. We barely won out last year, we had to pull off some miracles that we may not get to see again this year, therefore, for all of those reasons above that you cited with their issues, we need to outright take this game away from them. Same can be said for the other two teams in this division. If we want a seat at the table with the other big three names in the AFC, we need to cement ourselves this year.
Bury these [BLEEP] early and let's kick our feet up early at home.
It's a long season and this is week 1. Few teams are totally on point in week 1, especially a young team that is still developing at many positions. On top of that, you don't want to peak as a team this early. It is really hard to peak way too early in a season and then try to "recapture it" later in the year. This team isn't like the 2007 Patriots that is going to run roughshod over the league for like 19 weeks.
I’m in the “just win the division” crowd and hope for the best in the playoffs. With that said, let’s get ready for this big divisional game up in Indy. I hope Etienne goes for 200 on the ground.
clots are so thin at CB. Our WRs, Dougy P and Trevor should really take over this game.

Same with their WR, they only have 4 for their roster but have 5 TE
The Clots are dangerous. They are in a position to do to us what we did to them a few years back. First game of the year new QB with little to no tape to study tenancies. I don't know about this year, but in the past we have had trouble with running QB's that are new. I still remember the first time we faced Deshaun Watson. He came in during the game and we just couldn't stop him. we won but it was ugly. Pardon me if I do not exhale till after the game...lol
Literally just have Lloyd as a spy the whole game, confuse the f out of AR he won’t be good at reading defenses.
We win 38 to 17
Let’s not get too in our heads about this, we are the better team by miles.

We won 29-7
Watson was 12 of 23 for 102 yards, 1TD, 1 INT. Was sacked 4 times. 2 rushes for 16 yards and a lost fumble
I think we stopped him just fine lol
Yeah, I'm still calling this one a 31-17 Jaguars romp through Lucas Oil Stadium.
Colts are in an Irsay-induced free fall, and I think Richardson may get loose and scamper a few times, and may hit the TEs over the middle enough to score some points, but he's gonna get pressured into a mistake or two as well. I hope Caldwell sends the heat with LB and safety blitzes and makes AR take a lick or two early on. Get in his head.
We'll capitalize.
It's pro football. The overall difference in quality and depth of rosters across the league isn't that big. There really aren't that many possessions in a game for each team. All it takes is a couple bad bounces, a flukey special teams play, couple bad calls by the ref, or a few tendencies to get exposed to swing a game.
We should win. We shouldn't get outplayed. But a loss isn't unthinkable.

Fact Check..... lol
Our offense has the ability to overwhelm. Between the WR core and the RBs punching it through for first downs and red zone scrimmages, opposing Ds are going to be gassed and deflated by the third quarter. What we saw against Miami in the first quarter is a taste of things to come. We were moving the ball at will.
Jaguars should win comfortably- say 34-17. Without J. Taylor, Richardson will be forced to throw more leading to 3 interceptions. I also expect a win in week 2 vs. a Chiefs teams without Chris Jones (hopefully). Even if he returns, the Jags will start the season at 2-0 with sky-high expectations for the season.
We are going to destroy the colts.
One game at a time though. Don’t overlook anyone. Anybody can beat you. Just focus on this opener and then worry about the chiefs later.

My bad, it was 2018 where he ran over us. I remember in 2017 thinking the guy was going to be a handful going forward. He came in in relief of Savage,
Guys, I have seen Anthony Richardson play a lot at UF. How is anyone on here thinking he’s going to come in and beat us in his first start? I’m all for being cautiously guarded with expectations, but if he beats us on his first start so then you can just go ahead and write the season off. Lol.
Still hard to believe Andrew Luck retired 4 years ago. He's only 33 right now (turning 34 in September) so it really looked like the Colts were set for 30+ straight years with Manning and Luck at the QB helm. Now Irsay just looks like a drunken idiot after living off the benefit of being able to land two great #1 picks and having Bill Polin as the GM.
