1) While it’s hard to imagine a trap game when everyone is geared up for the opener, this has every element of a trap. We’re considered a top team and Indy is bottom tier. Indy should be tired of hearing how bad they are in the media. They have a QB they are excited about, and their stadium should be rocking. And, maybe most important, some of our players will be looking forward to proving themselves the next week against KC. Makes me nervous.
2) I’m worried that our OL is going to be a critical weakness. Rookie RT, first-time LT starter, and these same IOLs weren’t so good last year. Colts, for all their flaws, have a dang good DL, particularly in the middle…
Can't say I disagree here.
I think one thing being overlooked is the fact the game is in Indy. The Jags last win at Indy was 2017 against Brisett.....
Man, y'all wringing hands over nothing.
Jags are gonna roll in Indy.
If it's close it'll be because the Jags cough up the ball one too many times.
The colts don't have the defense to stop our attack.

I'm nervous just because it's week 1 and weird things tend to happen.
I do think the Jags win this game and I'm hoping it's a jumping off point for a fantastic season.

In 2020 the jags were 1-15. the only win was in the first game here at home over the Clots. So I'll just be on edge ... can't help it . I have been conditioned over the last 25 years or so...lol

Yeah but we had Minshew who is pretty accurate even though he doesn't have a strong arm. Richardson is one of the most inaccurate QBs in the league
Colts do have a good dline. That's my biggest concern
It's amazing how much things have changed since that 1-15 season
I, for one, am looking forward to the clots fans leaving their stadium in droves by the third quarter

the colts have a young rookie qb ,they haven't been great last few seasons. it is week one comeing up, and the problom with jags right now is they went 3-0 in pre-season. Yes thats good, and bad in a way,pre-season doesn't mean anything ,expect it can show how much depth a team has. The issue with Jags going 3-0 is they are human, and could get over cockey, and confideient ,and wham loose to the colts. Don't get me wrong,im not saying jags will lose, just that the team needs to be careflul espaissley after not loseing a game in pre-season. Anything can happen in week one. Heres the thing though the colts are a team the jags should beat in thier division with a young qb and in a rebuild of thier own.

I'm glad both Indy games are in the early half of the season when Richardson is just getting his bearings. If he improves his accuracy over time, he's going to be the second coming of Steve McNair. He's built like a tank. I'm more worried about him becoming a player than Stroud.
I don’t think Richardson will pan out as an NFL QB. That said, it’s any given Sunday in the NFL. Lots of other talent around him, and he has elite athletic traits.
My biggest concern is we start slow offensively and AR is so bad he gets pulled for Minshew who manages some of the old Minshew Magic. Unlikely in the extreme but hell, stranger things have happened.

This is the only scenario that worries me. We start really fast and get a comfortable lead and their rookie is obviously rattled, but they're "lucky" to only be down by like 17 or so and then they start Minshew for the 2nd half and they rally to make it nail bitingly close.
About 8:days until show time can’t wait.

They definitely didn't last year, and the Gus bus is still there and our personnel on that side of the ball improved, so they probably won't this year, either.
The question is whether our defense will bother to stop them this year, they sure didn't in Indy last year.

Minshew isn’t good though.
I hope they put him in.

Yeah, I'd much rather play Richardson than Minshew

Not worried about Minshew at all either, LOL.
There's a reason he's not sticking on rosters anywhere.

I heard it's because he keeps sleeping with the coaches wives.

Like… are we worried about a guy who helped the Jags go 1-15? Lol

He’s actually one of the best backups in the league. He is probably better than AR at the moment. If they put him in, they will likely have a more effective offense. I doubt it will make a difference but it might.

Do people seriously not watch the games or something?
This is a tune up game it'll be over by half time. Richardson Sucks and Indy did nothing on defense, if we leave the starters in we roll these chumps by 28+ points. Seriously a rookie Richardson's first game and no JT at back? Lmao thanks nfl we could use a tune up before the real opener against KC
