That definitely part of it. But those next gen route charts only show 2 weeks that Ridley was really forced to "stay outside." (or at least that's what they called for him those days) And he has what, 16 catches along the sideline this year? So he does win those matchups fairly often.
Nonetheless - they know Zay can line up wide and be trusted to either draw coverage or get open since he did it last year for us - so it makes sense they'd be more free to send Ridley on more middle of the field stuff when Zay is available.
These TD drops are killer….
Ridley was great in the game outside that TD drop he was competitive, and reliable for Trevor. can't wait for the next 6.

I really don’t consider that an egregious drop though. The ball was a touch long, it’s not like he had two hand fully on it, it grazed his fingertips
i'm not even sure if they called it a drop. but would of been nice to see him haul that in.. soon i'd like to see that 13 catch 180 yard game.

The inches we need to win are all around us. We fight for those inches. LOL That pass was inches long....not a drop.

Drop. What you actually see is the arm grab right at the start of the clip impeded him just enough that he couldn't catch up. But it went right through his hands, to be an All Pro he's got to make that catch.

Yep. Thumbs underneath the ball, palms to each side of the ball with arms completely extended. Tough catch, but catchable nonetheless. He mis-timed it by a millisecond.
Looks like short armed the off hand as well. Definitely catchable. And if he’s a “1400 yard receiver” as he claims to be, his standard should be to catch that.
He has had sure hands outside of the deep acrobatic ones, may just not be his bag.

Does Ridley look at this and self-reflect like Evan Engram does? Maybe try and figure out what aspect of his game, physical or mental, he needs to repair or develop to go to the next level?

Based on the rest of the game I'd say he did.

Yeah - I'm sure he's meditating as we speak and focusing his chi to better himself at catching a ball that NFL receivers don't catch 80% of the time.
It would have been an amazing catch. He didn't catch it and we won anyway.
Big whoop.

Come on. Of course he does. He's a professional athlete. How can you ask such a ridiculous question?
For missing almost 2 years he’s still on pace for a stat line of 72/1025/7TDs. I’ll take that with Kirk on pace for 86/1172/5TDs.
Ridley balls.
A bunch of haters were down on Ridley in September and October. But I remember explaining to the forum how hard it must be to get back into NFL shape after 2 years off.
Watson and Ridley were similar.
Watson wimped out.
Ridley proved he was a real baller. Bro took all the pain and frustration of getting back into NFL shape, all the [BLEEP] and stench of dealing with not living up to instant expectations. And you know, most dudes would just give up and go home. Not Ridley. Dude took all that failure and used it as a learning experience.
You gotta love a guy like Ridley. He was on top, got blown out, then came back and suffered through the grind it takes to make it back to where you once were. The dude is the modern day Rocky.
He should be the NFL come back player of the year!!!!

Him or Tua.
But we all knew Hamlin was getting it the second he made the 53 even though he’s only played like two games and is actually a pretty sub par player
I like Ridley, he’s a legit number 1 receiver. He’s not a pro bowler but he’s probably a top 20 receiver when he’s on. He drops a pass here and there but so did Jimmy Smith and there’s no question JSmooth was a great player.

Eh a top 20 receiver when you’re on doesn’t exactly scream number 1.
