This is a good point. Jags ultra trash plays if they are scripted to start the game.
My main problem with Doug is his stubbornness. And these interviews are becoming painful to watch, like he has no media savvy and doesn’t understand his words are highly inflammatory. he takes 0 accountability
Sad to say , but barring a miracle (I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt since he has overcome 2-7 here albeit when expectations weren’t that high). He’s done.
Hopefully next year we get new uniforms & new regime with Ben Johnson as our HC

If Pederson is still the coach, I could see both him and Baalke surviving based on saying "the team turned it around."
If Pederson is fired but Baalke is still in the building, he will tell Khan "see it was the coaches, I picked good players and you should keep me around."
Both of these would be horrendous outcomes, but I don't know how you convince Khan to fire both of them before that stretch of games.

Take that thought further. If the jags win against these difficult teams here in the next 4 weeks, jags can go on a crazy streak. Like said, the schedule gets easier. Who knows? This team can get hot. So, there are plenty of ways for people to save their jobs still. I really would get rid of Balkie at least and press. Those two are the biggest problems. Throw in Nielsen too.

It's a lost season with Pederson and his boy running the offense.
But even if we dump Dougie and his lackey, the season isn't going to get better. We're 2-6. And we have the Eagles, Vikings, and Lions in the next 3 games. You think that Dougie can figure out how to win any of those games? It's over.
We had this game, and Doug still figured out a way to lose it. Maybe Dougie can beat the Eagles, but I'm not really hopefull.
We'll be 2-7 after next week. And then I'm sure the mods will tell us that it's the players at that point. Even though we should have been at least 4-4. We're just a poorly coached team.

Oh I know. I hate this, but at this point they either need to win out or lose out going into the bye week, and there is no way they win out. I hate encouraging the team I root for to lose. That was supposed to end when they got a passable QB.

I'm not sure what you're talking about. You were complaining about Press for the longest time and saying that he was doing a terrible job with his offense even though it was Doug's offense. You wanted Doug calling the plays. Doug is a [BLEEP] coach at this point and it doesn't matter whether he is calling the plays or not.
Blank 2. For me, it means I’m still not giving up on Doug , but I’m extremely upset with him as a coach. Anyhow, Khan will not fire him until at least the season has been over for a while. That’s just the facts of jags. If it was up to me, I would fire him if the jags are mathematically eliminated.
I’ll stand alone on this one. I’ve been through the brand new version of the Jaguars in 1995, one of the best teams in the NFL from 1996 until about 2001. Del Rio came in and gave us the the good defensive teams. I went through the Gus Bradley era where we became the laughing stock of the league. Doug Marrone era gives us 1 good season. Urban Meyer stunk the place up, and in comes Doug to give us back to back winning seasons and a playoff appearance in his 1st year. This year reminds me of the 2000 season where a play here and there changes the outcome of the season.
The Etienne fumble against Miami, the safety against the Browns. The dropped TDs, the interceptions. Your number 1 CB and LB out with injuries, your number 1 TE has missed time, your all pro return man went down. The interior defensive line being non existent, which is completely out of the head coaches control when a player lines up and gets whipped.
The defensive coordinator just didn’t work out. The personnel didn’t match. Brown is a lifelong backup but he’s your starter. Cisco is struggling in the man scheme. Johnson is seeing the field because Wingard has been injured.
Muma has been forced to play and he definitely don’t fit a man to man scheme.
Armstead was a swing and a miss. RRH was worse than Fatukasi was last year.
The offense scored 27 points today and lost. The defense is right up there with the worst it’s ever been. This secondary ain’t scaring anybody.
Coughlin was ran off too soon, I ain’t firing him. He knows what it takes to win a championship and I’m not giving the keys to another Gus Bradley for 50 games until a decision is made.
The Jaguars make the playoffs in back to back seasons if McManus just makes his FG against the Bengals last year.
It’s been a rough season, but I owe him at minimum 1 season to get it back on track.

My bad for thinking that Doug could actually turn things around? Clearly he and his boy are linked together. I was hoping that it was only Press we had to get rid of.
But last year, it was obvious that the coaching was not the same. I kept saying that. Over and over again. I was hoping it was just that Dougie was trying to to give more responsibility to Press. Clearly it was the fact that Dougie just didn't want to do the hard work.
As I said, I kept telling everyone here that the offense didn't look right. And I've been proven correct. This team is badly coached. I was hoping that it was the OC that was the problem. Doug fired the DC, because that's what he thought was the problem. Turns out, it was the HC the whole time. That doesn't change the fact that many of us already saw that things were off last year.
