I think of all the potential open HC spots, Jax is the most enticing based on what Cleatwood just laid out. The only team I think better poised to lure and offensive minded guy away would be Cincy if Taylor is fired there.

I don't care if it was Mac Jones, Trevor Lawrence, or Byron Leftwich out there. Doug should be [BLEEP] axed. I appreciate that Khan will invest in our city and shell out money to the players his GM tells him he needs to pay.

But how spineless could you be to know that your head coach just became the first guy in over 100 years of football to let that happen.

When teams forced 3+ turnovers and held their opponent to 0 touchdowns and only allowed FGs those teams were 195-0.

The record is now 195 - 1.

I know people don't like these names, but, I really do.

I like Bill Belichick, I like Mike Vrabel and I especially like Brian Flores. With those three, it feels like we would be getting a hardnosed coach, that will not tolerate bull [BLEEP] or nonsense. 

It feels like we would see immediate improvements defensively and that we would see some type of commitment to getting the offensive line and running game fixed. 

I am all for that. Anything to make Trevor Lawrence's job a whole hell of a lot easier over the next five years starting in 2025 I am 1,000% on board with. But, we CLEARLY need a culture shock and we CLEARLY need an identity.

If they are looking for a defensive coach who is not a retread, Chargers DC Jesse Minter is an interesting option. Of course that unit would have to continue their play with the harder part of their schedule coming up.

One more week and we’ll know if he’s fired mid season or not. No point doing to today when they bye is a week away. After Detroit drops 50 on us Kahn can sneak into the Det locker room, hand Ben Johnson a post dated check for whatever amount he wants, and then fire Doug on the way home.

We will either be the most attractive or least attractive IMO. All depends on if Baalke stays.

Here is a question. If the Jags are truly targeting Ben Johnson, do you let Trevor play and possibly struggle due injury, scheme, etc when Johnson can see it all in person, or do you hold out Trevor so as to not let that influence Ben Johnson's impressions on Trevor and the Jags?

Blank checks are the best checks.  Seriously, though...  Imagine Johnson working with Lawrence.  The increase in performance would be exponential.  

Then hire Robert Salah as DC.  That would be pretty sweet.

If Cincy opens up, that could be the best option but Brown is notorious for being cheap.

At least with Khan, you know he's going to open up the checkbook.

Yes there is tape, but there is a difference to see a guy play live, or least that is what I've been told.

I do agree that if needs surgery, he should just get it done. Especially if it is a recurrence of the same injury from last year.

Which comes first: Doug Pederson fired or the reveal of the Switch 2 console?

I personally see us as kind of like the Rams under Fisher. A mid level team that has flashes of good but plenty of bad.

I could get on board Saleh as a DC. He did a great job as LB coach here and he does have a talent for the D side of the ball. 

Definitely a no as a HC tho.

Once they fire Baalke, all coaches will be back on the table.

Pederson was hired because he was one of the only ones willing to work with Baalke.

Baalke gets fired and then we can go after Matt LaFleur, Ben Johnson, Liam Coen and others.

Your 100% right that moving Baalke is the biggest move. I'm sure potential HC's are looking at Doug and thinking that they could easily end up in the same situation with Baalke as GM.

I think HC is the biggest decision we have to make this offseason but hiring the GM had to be the 1st decision and has to be made in sync with the HC hire. It shouldn't be difficult to find a GM and HC that have the same philosophy and ideas towards building a roster that fits the HC's system. Of course not every decision will work out and players won't develop as hoped but just having an agreed vision shouldn't be as difficult as it's made out to be.

I really agree that we are probably the most attractive HC position available. Jets are a mess, Saints have a lot of problems to fix, Raiders have to start from scratch, Browns comes with Watson's contract, T*tans are a dumpster fire.

For as bad as we've been, we have talent on both sides of the ball, a great QB, BTJ, a high draft pick and some cap to play with. It's been a terrible season but any HC and GM should see the problem isn't a fundamentally broken team that needs rebuilding, it's a team not being used correctly and stuck in a negative spiral that's continuously kicking itself. It's all very fixable.

It was a stupid response by him yesterday. I get he's been asked the same questions every week but that's also because we have the same problems every week. It was a terribly executed play and instead of just taking the hit, he acted like fans and media are stupid for questioning him.

We are circling the drain of the Pederson reign.

I think Doug gets fired after we lose to the Lions during the bye week or Khan just waits till black Monday, one of the 2. If he don't get fired after the Lions loss he finishes the season.

That makes me think back to those heady days when Bologna Marrona took over for Bobblehead and the first thing he did was throw out the ping pong table. Hardnosed coach brings identity change and we got 1 decent season out of it then, in the most #becausejaguars way possible, it imploded. Then Urban came in and "changed the culture" to be very hands on and...it imploded. Then Doug got here, things got better with a "pro coach" that brought a decent season...and it imploded. The common factor in this franchise is that since 2002 this bunch of yahoos goes out of their way to shoot themselves in the [BLEEP]. Every GM, every coach, most of the players...they just implode. We have here the Wile E. Coyote of sports entertainment, always some great new idea that ends up splattered all over the canyon floor.

Bigger question is whether this is how he interacts with team/front office, or if he's just over dealing with the media. Frankly, I don't care if he's best friends or at complete odds with reporters. But you gotta get results on the field or you won't last, no matter how friendly you are with the media.

But you gotta get results on the field or you won't last, no matter how friendly you are with the media.

If they shut Trevor down they need to fire the GM and coach the same day. You can't have "Trevor got hurt" hanging over the team this offseason, especially if, as I suspect, they make a small run of wins at the end. I just would love to see them promote Press Taylor to interim just to watch the servers melt and Carp's head explode. If we gotta suck at least make it entertaining!

I don't get all the Ben Johnson love. He apparently didn't interview well in Washington, which would've been a golden opportunity for him. He wanted too much money for Carolina. I'm sensing a huge ego. Kudos to him for getting consistent production from Goff, but how much of that is Goff being out to show the world the Rams were wrong to dump him? Goff also has a very talented offensive line and great weapons. Trevor would light it up in that offense. 

Every year, there are hotshot offensive coordinators, like Dave Canales. Then they go somewhere with lesser QB talent (see Stefanski) or their star QB goes down (see McDaniels) and they are no longer super creative QB whisperers.
