There is a whole 3/4 of a season the were quite a mess. Breaking bad over lost and 24.

DS9 was what everyone who complains about the reboot movies not being "trek enough" really wants. That show touched on some heavy stuff. Great acting also.

A certain pair of episodes in the fourth season dealing with a Founder "invasion" might have shaped my world view a bit...
