Also by comparison, Joe Biden was caught plagerizong whole speeches, not just sentence structure in 1988 and that partially lead to his withdrawal from the campaign. He also directly plagerized 33% of a paper he submitted in college as an academic representation of his own work. That's the sitting vp. You don't hear about it because of the d behind his name.


As for managing the news cycle, the nature of the convention is to reset itself each night with the climax of the nominees speech on the last night. Ivanka and Donald will be the takeaway. This isn't a 47% moment.

I never said this was the game changer, or 47% moment.


But it's clearly a bad day for trump. One that could have, and should have been managed much better than this.

This is such a non-story that it's funny.  The real fact of the matter is that Melania Trump is seen as a threat to the far left.  They are using anything and everything to try to get at Donald Trump.  Since, when does the first day of a political convention actually mean anything?  Who really cares about a speech given by a potential first lady?  So her message was similar to that of not only Michelle Obama, but probably the same as Laura Bush, Barbara Bush, Nancy Reagan and a whole host of other past first ladies.  What's the big deal?  Oh that's right, gotta spread a negative message no matter how mis-leading it is.  It's how the left attacked and took down Sarah Palin.

The far left crazies will harp on this to no end, the far right will defend it to no end and those really with an open mind in the middle really won't care. They'll judge the person and the presentation. I also think that the left harping on it so hard has a chance to be more potentially off putting than the denial.
