Quote:So a couple years ago when the "NFL players" (I'll still use quotes since no one, even the players who are supposed to be voting, know who the players are that are voting) ludicrously voted John Kuhn in the top 100, if a Packers fan dared say that was proooobably a really stupid thing to do that made him not a real Packers fan?
Making up a hypothetical doesn't validate your opinion.

oh yeah that does put an interesting perspective on it. Still love that Hurns made it.
Quote:I know it doesn't work as cleanly as it should, but an evenly distributed top 100 would have 14 WR in it if we are assuming every teams predominant offense runs 3 WR...which isn't true cause some teams base has a FB or 2 TE so it should probably be like 10-12.

Even if a particular top 100 is skewed toward more WR than it should, I don't think Hurns is ever going to essentially be a top half WR1.

I still don't get how me saying he's not at that level is knocking him...he's perfectly good for what he is and saying he doesn't break the top 6.7% of players in a league that has 1,472 active players every week isn't saying he sucks whatsoever.
that doesnt answer my question. What more did he need to do in order to warrant his top 100 selection in your eyes?

was well deserved, you must of missed it

But it isn't a hypothetical, John friggin Kuhn was actually voted on the same NFL 100 list that we are now debating...I actually think it was the same season that Tebow was voted on it but I could be wrong.

There is no real answer to this. If he becomes a serious contender to be in that big 2nd tier of WR in the league, in the same class as AJ Green, Arob, Dez, Watkins, Allen, Evans, Jeffery, Amari, etc...then we can start the discussion. He's not very close that yet though and since he is the #1 TD regression candidate in the league (Arob is #3 behind Baldwin too btw) I expect this will be a silly conversation next offseason.

If this was a top 250 or so list then Hurns on the back end would have a good argument to me...which would put him in the top 16% of all active NFL players so still very solid.

You act like Kuhn was a bum.  Dude was a stud

lol, I wish you knew 1% of what you think you do then you could come have a real conversation with people that actually know a bit about football.  Im done son!

If it's not hypothetical then show us the packer fans complaining about him making the list.

Also show us how a FB  making the list has anything to do with a 1100+ yrd 10TD receiver making the list.
Here is the kicker Allen Hurns in the last two years the dude has caught more touchdowns than any other Undrafted wideout ever. Thats more than 1. Rod Smith, 2. Wes Welker,3. Wayne Chrebet,4. Victor Cruz that is some dare i say Elite comapany. Along with being the only wide reciever that caught 7 touchdowns in seven straight games last year. Smdh @ those hating production .....Busters.

A top 250 list should have 30-35 WRs on it in a mathematical sense, which is where I think Hurns ultimately ranks. Next year when Hurns puts up like 900 and 7 people will look back on this as pure silliness as I said.

The list is based on year to year performances though. Hurns had a great year last year and is on the list because of it. It doesn't matter how he will do next year. You can disagree that there's some bad choices for the list if you want, however bringing up numbers for what he will do in the future has nothing to do with this list. It's not a projection.

Considering his ranking this year is based on what he did last year the only silliness to look back on next year would be your desperate attempt to save face.
I understand it was based on how he did last year. I still don't think he was that close to top 100 last year, even with his fluky TD number.

Fluky? He had 6 TDs as a rookie. 10 would be perfectly aligned with natural progression.

We are all glad you have your opinion. I'm sure they were  expressing how much they value your opinion is when they asked you to vote.

how was it a fluke? The guy scored 2 TDs in his first game ever played, week 1, in his rookie year. He scored a TD in 7 straight games last year. Scored 6 in his rookie year. When something starts becoming a pattern it is no longer a fluke!
Nvm. So pointless to try to explain anything that requires some nuance around here...

If Hurns overcomes being the #1 TD regression metric candidate then I'll cop to it, and I hope that if he goes like 900/7 y'all will do it too and admit you couldn't look past your extreme fandom biases.

No, we will understand that his ranking is based on his performance the prior season, a concept that seems to be beyond your grasp.

You are top three in the advanced idiot metric. Pretty solid showing.

The point you seem to be ignoring is those fancy metrics aren't nearly 100% accurate and shouldn't be taken as such.

You are much like hailtoyourvictor in that even when you are glaringly incorrect you can't just admit it and move on.
