This thread went from Zero to idiotic real fast. Bridgewater and Mariota are practically the same guy, and they're both massively overrated coming out of 2015.
If the Jaguars called up any team in the league besides possibly the colts, packers, and panthers and offered to trade Bortles for their QB straight up all of the teams would think about it really hard, and almost all of them would take that deal.

What did teddy have? AP behind an Oline with one good player stefon diggs as your only receiver and kyle rudolph
if you knew anything about Teddy. The QBs help make the WRs. Half of the passes Blake completes to Hurns and ARob Teddy could only dream of throwning the ball that far and putting it in a position to give his WR a chance. Teddy has one of if not the weakest arm in the league which is why Charles Johnson and Patterson havent done much. All defenses have to do is stack the box and stop AP because they know Teddy cant beat them with his arm over the top. Teddy can only dream about having an arm as strong as Alex Smith much less Bortles. Teddy needs to work on his accuracy as well as its bottom of the league. The only thing holding that Vikings team back from possibly making a SB run is the QB
Now I do agree that Mariota is better than most give credit for. He played like a rookie last season as expected. But I expect him to be one of the top tier QBs in the future. On the other hand Teddy Bridgewater showed no improvement from year 1 to year 2
I think the most we'll see from Mr. Bridgewater is 3k passing yds 15 Tds a season.
Irs funny how saying but Blake has a top 5 WR? Who is throwing ARob the ball lol. ARob and Hurns do a lot of their work downfield. If they were on a team that had a QB with a weak arm that couldnt get the ball down field Hurns and ARob both would be no more than average receivers. But having a QB like Blake that can sling the ball downfield benefits both. Its nice having a QB with a strong arm

Remember that 80 yard TD to Hurns at the start of the 3rd quarter of the second colts game last year? If mariota or bridgewater even attempt that pass (and in mariota's case I doubt he would, guy is scared to throw anywhere except short over the middle of the field) it would have been a pick.
It's tough to replace arm talent, and since Bortles has arm talent and a winning QB's mind and attitude he's going to continue outshining all of the guys taken the last few years.

when you look at arm strength it not just about how far you can throw it. Its about putting it through tight windows. Having enough zip on it when throwing downfield where it dont sail where the defender is waiting on it etc. Arm strength is a very important quality when you are an NFL QB believe it or not

Teddys are is prob even with alex, either way none of this matters. Theres so much more important than a strong arm. Like accuracy, which you say Teddys is bottom of the league but PFF has him has the most accurate passer this season, and had a higher accuracy on deep balls than good ol cannon arm flacco. But i suppose youll all discredit pff so whatever.

And how can we disregard teddys need for help but the entire narrative after blakes rookie season was getting him help lol.
Whenever I watch Teddy he simply looks overwhelmed out there. As for his accuracy, of course that's going to look better when all you do is throw short. The same goes for Mariota whose deep ball is likewise absolute garbage.

Please stop trolling and start backing up some points with some links. The Vikings aren't bereft of talent and the Jaguars overflowing with it.
AP is not only an elite RB among current players, but he yards per game prove that he's in elite company historically speaking. Teddy is practically getting a free ride with defenses focusing their efforts on the Vikings run game.

extremely accurate, smart, has tons of poise in the pocket when defenders arent in his face by the time he gets the ball in his hand, and can extend plays with his legs without being overly reliant on it.

Not what I'm looking for. If you want tweets about how great someone is at a specific thing I can find plenty of them for everyone in the league.
Bridgewater faced some pressure? That doesn't really matter when you don't show how much Bortles faced. Same for accuracy. No QB in the league threw downfield more than Bortles did, a guy choosing to go conservative to increase his "accuracy" doesn't make him better.
When I say bring some links I mean with statistical analysis of the teams as a whole, because we already know that Bortles was far and away better than Teddy based on their performances. The only question is whether the Jaguars are just a far better team than one that made the playoffs last year in spite of their QB. I'm going to have to say that's probably not the case.
