Why would I be mad? Jaguars have the better QB
Quote:as if blake faced remotely close to the same pressure teddy was under lol. And smart is definitely not the first thing that jumps to mind when describing a qb who had two illegal forward passes in one game.

You're overstating how much pressure Teddy was under especially with defenses keying on AP. With Joekel and Beadles in front of him, Blake was under just as much pressure as teams were keying on him as the Jaguars don't run the ball like the Vikings. Blake even took more sacks than Teddy. The Vikings OL, btw, is widely regarded as one of the league's better OLs. I don't know where you get this notion that they're a mess.

Quote:Now I know you're trolling cause you didn't watch the Jags and say we had a decent line. BB had no time at all to get rid of the ball 90% of the time.

If you really watch how Blake moves in the pocket you come to realize that he's actually a master at buying enough time for the deep plays to develop. He has an absolutely incredible feel for the pocket and is great at sensing pressure. When he does go down to a sack, it's either the result of defenders having a clean break where there simply isn't any time to maneuver, or else it's a classic coverage sack. Teddy isn't even on the same level as Blake. Blake is mastering how to pick apart secondaries deep downfield. Teddy reminds me a little Garrard without the legs in that he'll throw a deep strike, but only when he's got a guy streaking wide open. I suspect he can't really see downfield all that well in order to truly diagnose when guys are getting open deep. It's great knowing we have a qb with such tremendous downfield vision.

Ummm...  Wasn't one of those flags picked up because he hadn't completely crossed the LOS before letting the ball go?  Wouldn't that mean he has had one illegal forward pass in his career?  Not sure how that would be an indictment of his intelligence.

I don't recall them picking one up, but there might have been a third one where they did. I distinctly recall two illegal forward passes that counted, only I don't quite recall if they were both in the same game or one each in back-to-back games.

I could swear I remember one either being picked up or overturned by replay...  Maybe he almost had a third one then.  Spidey senses must have been broken on that day.

Looks like they're at least better than the Jaguars line, at least when you ask someone impartial.

If Teddy has problems with protection it's probably for the same reason that Gabbert had so many problems with it, when you won't throw deep the field shrinks and everyone's up around the line of scrimmage ready to rush you when no one comes into their zone.

Someone gets it

Lol, it was the olines fault.  Now he used the same PFF you do to prove you wrong and now its the receivers fault!  Have you ever thought the reason he isnt very good is because its Teddys fault?

idk what he proved wrong. 16th ranked pass protection with one of the worst tackle pairs in the league doesnt go against anything i said lol, he still isnt getting protected. Its a combination of the oline and the receivers, his entire supporting cast isnt good. It doesnt take a rocket scientist to understand this its very simple.
He might be able to get by off that line if he had a worthwhile receiving core but he doesnt.

It doesnt matter if he had Calvin Johnson in his prime when you have a QB that has an arm like he does.

It's so strange. Great QBs seem to make every guy they line up with look like a great receiver, while bad QBs seem to make it look like every receiver they line up with is terrible.

Bortles is the reason the team got 35 passing TDs this year. Swap teddy for Bortles and Minnesota gets recognized as the great up and coming passing team while the Jaguars continue to wallow in 14 PPG territory.

this is pretty baseless and very insulting to the Allens

No one is saying the Allen's are not good. There's 2 reasons they were our first pair of 1k recievers in so long. One, they're talented. And two, Blake Bortles.

You think Gabbert (or even Teddy) would have been able to place those jump balls for ARob? Or that running corner td against the Bills to Hurns? Or the 80 yard needle thread against Indy to Hurns?

Great QBs, have a tendency to make their receivers look better. Welker, Austin Collie, pretty much everyone NE wr. And they make good recievers look great.

If Teddy was as good as you want to believe, his recievers would look much better. Especially with freaking AP.

90% of this post is irrelevant seeing as i didnt say Bortles was bad or that he didnt have any affect on the allens or the tds lol. But to say that with all the offensive talent this team has wed still avg 14ppg regardless of your feelings on teddy is again, very insulting to the allens and the rest of the offense.
Im just not sure why on the subject of Teddy, supporting cast all of a sudden becomes completely irrelevant. Hes a second year qb that ur asking to elevate a terrible offensive unit, its just unfair and seems like the same irrational bias i see from jags fans everywhere.
Where was all this "good qbs elevate the talent around them" when we were all clamoring for Julius thomas, randall cobb, and a new oline last offseason?
