I like it..  Welcome to Malik Jackson!

Now, give me a safety that can hit..   I swear it's and inside joke on Nfl network that every Jax highlight is of Cyp missing the angle and sliding off the tackle..

90 mil, he better not be our usual bust. Good signing.
Quote:Malik will not be seeing a lot of time on the sideline. Him rotating will be at the expense of other players coming off the field, not him.

Agreed. And with him possibly rotating in at two spots, this increases his abilty to remain on the field.

I can see two primary DL situations. I'll say "LEO" where I refer to Caldwell's new stud LEO that he is surely in the process of aquiring..

<p style="margin-left:40px;">Malik, Roy, Sen'Derrick, Fowler

<p style="margin-left:40px;">

<p style="margin-left:40px;">and

<p style="margin-left:40px;">

<p style="margin-left:40px;">Odrick, Roy, Malik, LEO

<p style="margin-left:40px;">

Abry Jones, Ryan Davis and Michael Bennett are there for depth making for 9 total DLs. ...10 if they add a 3rd LEO and re-assign Davis.

He's not playing every snap. He'll rotate like everyone else.
There's of course also the 3rd down 3-LEO package...

Fowler, Malik, Davis, LEO

I think I saw Malik at Zaxbys in orange park. I'm not convinced though, looked a lot like him but had a neck tattoo and I can't find any pics that show he has one. He was decked out in an all white tux with someone else I didn't recognize decked out the same. Drove a crummy ol' chevy truck with a gold plated trailer hitch and a Colorado tag... I'm not sure it was him but it'd be a weird coincidence otherwise.

Based upon the press conference, he'll play primarily 3 technique, which means he likely replaces Senderrick Marks in the lineup.

Does Marks get cut altogether?

No way it was him, he flew right in and went to the Stadium

No they already said they want to cut down Marks snaps and play him mostly on 3rd downs, this is before FA started

Well, that's good.

I like a rotation of Jackson and Marks.  Not much dropoff at all from one to the next.

Yup one guy goes out another one comes in, RIP other teams OG
This is by far the largest contract in Jaguars history right?  Malik has work to do!

Going to be great to have another Tennessee baby eater on the D-Line.....in fact he already has one in his lap! LOL... :woot:

THink he'll slap himself too?

Are you sure it wasn't Publix?

You think the guy agreed to his $90m contract on Wed, loaded his whole family into a pickup truck and drove to the Everbank overnight, signed his contract, did his press conference, a few interviews, and then went to Zaxbys in Orange Park wearing a white tuxedo?

So...does that seem unlikely to you?
I like this signing a lot! But his interview has me a bit worried. He seemed to bring up his paycheck more than anything else. I hoped he would sound more like gipson, not like an above average DL that jumped ship from the best defense in the league for primarily a payday. Duval is a mindset, not a paycheck.

I have flashbacks of my excitement for JTs signing, then disappointment from his lack of production in the passing game. I hope they both crush it this year!

They asked him about the paycheck, so he talks about the paycheck. At least he talks about earning it, unlike Vernon who wants to a big city to spend it on.

Agreed, I'm glad Vernon passed us up for "the big city".
Gold.
