Quote:Maybe his name is on the bottom of the check? Seriously? Why would he care...even IF it caused ticket prices to go up, it wouldnt affect him
He if flailing away frantically to become the next TMD. It is his lifelong dream, and he is worried about the competition he has been getting by jagsfan32277, jerrad, and yo boy.

He has a dream of being TMD lite, and nobody is going to stand in his way.
15 million a year!!! Wow.... Don't get me wrong Malik is a great player but that's too much money for him. That's close to the kind of money you would pay a Von Miller or a JJ Watt. I love the fact that he is a jaguar now but I don't like how we got him, I'd say 10 mil at most for him... If that was to low then jus continue to build through the draft.
Lol we're getting [BLEEP] on for signing Jackson. NFL Network crew was just saying how we have nothing on defense so Jackson only came here for the money. But yet if the Raiders signed him it would be the best thing ever. Just like last year when the Raiders were in the talks to get Julius Thomas it was seen as good and would be the best signing. Yet the Jags singed him and everyone started saying he's a product of Peyton Manning.
Quote:He's saying Julius Thomas was a bust? Really?

I am glad you noticed that.Idiot don't know football

I am watching NFL Network to. They never mentioned Marks or Miller
It's always funny when people are like "He's just going there for money!"

What do they want?  The best players to all go to the same team?  Seriously?  All for low contracts, because that gives them the best chance to win?

They should just go watch professional basketball if that's what they want.

Malik has a mean streak.

Just listened to Woody Paige's take on this. Man, he is salty. I get the feeling Bronco fans really don't like us between 96 and is constantly plucking their players away. You would think they'd be on cloud 9 after the Super Bowl.

Also don't get this national narrative that Julius is a bust here.
I love the signing.

If Marks is healthy and Fowler is half of what he was hyped to be, this line is shaping up nicely.

I don't care about overpaying the guy, and he'll be plenty productive minus his former teammates. Don't buy the fear.
It really pissed me off listening to the narrative of this signing from the national media. He was the best defensive player yesterday by damn near every major media outlet and now today it's "well he got over paid and is going to a team that he won't produce that much for" lol. If the raiders or giants got this guy it would have been the best signing of the day. It's all good. I realized most don't know much about the jags when they say he is changing schemes. Lol yeah he may be but he will play the same technique he is used to playing.

It's all good. This team is build something good and Caldwell is a master. Built he offense in the draft and stacked up 80 plus million for free agency. Will get some talent and still roll over about 25-35 million next year lol. Might as well get your last jabs in because its gonna be a lot of "the jaguars did what???" lol

Precisely.

If he'd gone somewhere else, the complaint would have been... "WHY DIDN'T WE PAY THE MAN! THIS IS WHY WE CAN'T HAVE NICE THINGS!!"
Jackson was my #1 target with Mario Williams being #2.  With Williams going to Miami now Irvin should be a strong target as well.

When Jax finally doesn't start winning, people are going to hate us. Look how obnoxious Jags Twitter is now, wait till we are winning on top of that.

I personally can't wait.
The real questions to ask are as follows.

Does he provide an upgrade?  At this point I would say yes.

Is it a value pick?  That all depends on what one thinks that "value" means.  Yes it's a lot of money, but on the other side, he was one of the most sought after free agents, and would have gone to another team for slightly less money.

Based on who/what is available in the free agent market, I would rate this as a quality pick.  Grab one or two more players like him in free agency, and I would say that it was money well spent.

With this signing, the Jaguars are taking a step toward being named the AFC South favorites. Houston doesn't have a QB, the Titans suck and Indianapolis is in disarray (is Luck a bust? That's for another thread.)
The national media isn't going to give us any love until we start winning.

I like it, we had a ton of space and this eats it up.  Von Miller got the superbowl MVP but many thought Malik had the better game of the two.  I like the M&M combo and idea of a more fresh Roy and Marks.  Itll be interesting to see what the next pieces to the team will be.

I'm going to guess Mack, Thurmond

The man don't look or play like a vacationer, I reckon a lot of you forget that some players play because they love ripping someone heads off, the intensity of kill, the pride, the will to win...

I see all this and more in him and 15M a year buys u a lot of peace of mind outside the game, so you can do your thing.. inside the game.

He will be beastly, I'm sure.

Looking forward to this season for sure... its getting exciting folks...

A few more pieces to the puzzle, a killer draft pick .. and.. oh yeah... BBINT cutting out that nonsense and its certainly possible we contend for the Division and head into the Post season.

:thanks:
Quote:If this goes down I'll be ecstatic. Malik and Marks in the middle is ridiculous. M&M!

I envision it more of a case of Malik rotating in with Odrick and Sen'Derrick at the strong DE and the DT spots. Roy and Abry likely remain the NTs as Malik isn't exactly a low-center-of-gravity NT.
