$15M a year is pricey, but it's free agency.
I like it good job front office

@jasoncole With DL Malik Jackson headed to #Jaguars, expect #Broncos to make a serious run at #Cardinals RT Bobby Massie.
Quote:It's not about paying guys. It's about paying the right guys. Trust the guy who's spent most of the past two seasons watching Broncos games, Jackson is the "product of his surroundings" guy. He's Dave Thomas, the cornerback who went from looking really good when paired with Fernando Bryant, Donovin Darius and Carnell Lake to being godawful with the Giants after losing those players around him. Without Ware, Miller and Wolfe pulling attention off of him, Jackson will struggle.

If we'd signed Vernon to an offer sheet larger than that, I'd be stoked. There are FAs out there I'd love to sign, but pursuing guys who were, in many ways, the weakest link on their team at that position and throwing monster contracts at them worries me.

Jackson was the weakest link on that defense? You obviously didn't watch a lot of Bronco games last year.
@RapSheet The #Texans are making a strong push to secure RB Lamar Miller before the league year begins, source said. Working toward a deal.
Wrong thread ^

@Rand_Getlin Going to be busy for #Jets DT Damon Harrison. Multiple teams competing to land his first visit. They know it'll put them in pole position.
With Ramsey or Jack, our defense is going to have so much swagger next year.

Jackson is here to be a 3 down Roy miller but with pretty damn good pass rush ability

From what I can see he regularly collapses the pocket limiting the space for the qb

With Mariota and luck in our division, both mobile, having two guys that can consistently collapse the interior is vital so our edge rushers can pin their ears back and let rip and we can still keep contain. I doubt we will see more than 5 sacks from him on a year but if he can keep the pressure on we will see Fowler and hopefully Irvin and either a draft pick or Vernon hitting double digits

15 mil is steep though hope it works out
So many haters on this forum.

Welcome Malik, sack someone pls =)

Jackson has confirmed it himself.

Supposedly a 6 year deal, averaging around $15m a year.  It's not my checkbook, and the Jags have lots of cap, but that is mucho dinero.  Money aside, the Jags defense just got better.  It sure makes Sen'derrick Mark's $4.5m per year deal look tremendous.

And Irvin about done as well. If you dont know persuing hard on vernon tomorrow.

JDub is hacking accounts again.
Our 3T/5T rotation has gone from Marks, Bryant, Hood, Alualu, to Marks, Jackson, Odrick in two offseasons.

I'll take it.
I approve this signing
@RapSheet The #Jaguars deal for DL Malik Jackson is 6 years, $90M with $42M guaranteed, source said. So, wow.

Let's just hope hes not Hugh Douglas
Quote:You may be right but him next to marks on passing downs with fowler and hopefully Irvin and odrick/davis? That's legit.
Exactly.  People are acting as if he'll be all alone on the line.  We've got some pretty stout talent there as well.  No matter how you slice it, this is a good move for the Jaguars.
Broncos' future good or bad? Abundance of talent that will not be able to be retained and Peyton retiring
We don't have to be a stellar defense next year.  We can be middle of the road, and I feel that with our offense, we'll win a lot of games.  This is assuming that Bortles continues to improve, and that Yeldon stays healthy.
