Only one other message board I have an account on has some mean people. Even there it is not nearly as bad as this one. Unlike this MB, I don't have to go there because there is a nicer forum on the same topic (cruises).

Yeah, because I don't understand the mindset of people who like to hide behind a keyboard and belittle complete strangers whose circumstances they know nothing about (or choose to ignore)?   

 

 

That my friend is GOLD!!!!!     I've been online since back in the days when upgrading to a 9600 baud modem was considered a HUGE speed increase.  I'm not going anywhere any time soon.

Then you don't have any real friends because that's what friends do.  When you're acting like an idiot, they're going to call you out on it.  I do it to my friends, and they certainly do it right back to me when it's called for.

 

I understand that you don't necessarily process things the same way others do, but don't assume that because you don't do it, that others march to the same tune you do.  Friends bust each others chops all the time.

Most of us do when they act it. It's called being honest, something I believe you are struggling with being on this message board.

This message board is pretty tame for the internet.  Most of us treat JW pretty well.

And, once again, the conversation has been turned to JDub and her maybe/maybe not mental health condition. That's that pattern, it's as constant as the sunrise.

Most boards would've banned her by now, but the Jaguars hang on to coaches, players and even message board participants past their sell by date.

If you have been around as long as you claim, then you know what happens on the internet and message boards. People make fun of each other. If you don't like it, then I don't know what to tell you.

 I will continue to defend her right to post here as well.    So some of you don't believe she has the condition that she stated she has (despite the obvious behaviors she displays), One question.. what if you are wrong?      But hey please feel free to carry on.  It says a lot more about you than it does about her.

She struggles because she is constantly trying to figure out everyone's over the top sarcasm. Everyone know's she doesn't decipher it, but it continues. She constantly asks literal questions to silly comments and then she gets bashed for asking those questions which is what she's being baited to do! 

 

She's blunt as a hammer, but that's part of the situation she deals with. The difference is, her bluntness and or seeming rudeness is oblivious to her, unlike everyone else who does it purposefully. 

 

I know this is the internet and it's a cruel place, but there are people on the other side of those keyboards.

I feel like I do.


However sarcasm is a large part of who I am. It's tough for me to not add sarcasm into a lot of things.

using words and phrases that appear insulting without knowing it

making the wrong decisions based on interpreting speech literally

 

An example of the second one is someone calling a coworker when she was out of the room. The caller said, "I will call back in a few minutes." So I did not take a message. When my coworker returned, she got mad at me for not leaving the message. How was I supposed to know he would never call back? You get the picture.
