Quote:Or the Packers?

Publcly owned team, West Coast offense, good coaches and players. My dad was a Packers fan so I fed off of him.
Quote:I was 14 when the Jags got a team.  To your point, rooting for the Broncos, Packers, and Jaguars from afar seems a little strange for me.  There are a lot of people that just make up allegiances to some of the strongest teams in the NFL only so they have a strong possibility of a team at the end.  If you want to be a front runner that's great, I've just chosen to suffer with the Jags I guess.

If you root for a winner, you can say one of your teams won on Sunday. But I don't choose teams based on records. Otherwise I would be a Panthers fan.
Quote:I think the issue many have, and we've had this discussion before, is the tact that is used in her responses to people and then what she expects to be used back to her.  Many times she is rude and crass back to people and there are many many people here that tread lightly with her because they know her situation, but there is only so much some people here are going to take.

There are also people on this message board that just don't care...it is after all a public message board.  If it upsets someone so much then this may not be the place for her...its a message board made up primarily of males that come here and talk football.  They are bound to be a bit crude occasionally.  I wouldn't go to a primarily female message board and expect to change the culture.
Ohhh. Boys will be boys....
Quote:Listen I have no ill will and don't want her to leave, I just want her to recognize that the way she treats people sometimes leads to the way she is treated. Sometimes she is downright mean, and whether she knows it or not it can rub people the wrong way....not everyone here knows her situation.

I agree, but those who do,  can (and in my opinion SHOULD) cut her some slack.

As have we all brother.... as have we all.   LOL

Especially since they all know what my problem is.
Quote:In my opinion the test is if the Jaguars are playing (say week 1 so late season scenarios don't enter into it) your "other" team.  Who do you root for?     For me, if the Jags and Saints are playing... there's no doubt. I root for the Jags.  Not even close.
That's the point dude. She openly rooted for the Broncos against the Jags 3 years ago.
Quote:C'mon it is not offseason for me yet. I have a team to root for next week.
Then root for them....on their board.
Quote:This is terrible news. I just got back from a cruise with a bunch of Podiatrists. I stubbed my big toe while disembarking and had to go to the hospital. I saw a guy that looked a lot like Gruden there.

Strange......
As long as you didn't see a Rex Ryan look-a-like checking out your feet, you'll be fine.

"I liked the fact that they won a lot of games, including the playoffs, by using the West Coast offense and 4-3 defense, I liked Mike Shanahan and the players. There was nothing NOT to like about the Broncos."

So rooting for teams that win and rooting for teams based on records are two different things?
Quote:Your mother must be proud flsprtspos.... then again she probably is, she is obviously a failure at parenting.

Well then..
Quote:Well then..

Yeah... he countered and won that round. I kinda regret that one now, but it would be wrong to go back and delete it just because I lost.  LOL

I think you've just taught me the difference between strange and weird.

It's not even that though...in this case, if you can give it, you better be able to take it.  She dishes out a lot of mean responses but doesn't seem to like when its given back.

I really do wish Cam and Co. hadn't lost that one game....I wish the story line this week was the whatever year Dolphins in a panic because there is a strong possibility they would no longer be the only undefeated team in the history of the NFL.  The popping a bottle of champagne every year is as pompous as it gets.  I went to a Jags/Dolphins game down there a while back and the Jags won and the only thing you heard was their undefeated season.  It was worse than Steeler fans talking about, "and one for the thumb!"

I guess. Just seems a bit much though when there's a huge pile on, evidenced by 9 full pages of mostly piling on one person.

Especially when that one person isn't intentionally being "mean".
I admit I posted a couple things to egg it on in the Pro Bowl thread. But I honestly didn't think that she actually believed it at first. But a few posts in here kinda cleared that up. Now knowing that, it seems to have gone overboard.

Some piling on by the usual suspects, but I thought it was a healthy discussion by many.

Edit:  I also think JW needs to understand where people are coming from.  If she doesn't see that the way she responds to people can be taken as a rude comment, then she can't be offended by their rude comments.  See what I mean?  How can she not see that she is being rude, but they are?  I get that not all of us are experts in Asperger's, but there has to be some give and take here.
