??? Care to explain why?
Quote:Because you don't deny people the ability to be promoted.

It's business. If it wasn't, teams wouldn't have to request permission. You can use the same logic with players. If the Texans were ever trading Watt do you think it would be more likely inside our division? No way.

If Marrone turns out to be a stud HC for the Tacks we'll see him twice a year and never forget it.

That's not how the NFL works and it's not the same scenario.
Quote:I still have no clue. Most sacked qb in the league worst run blocking in the teams history. Another caaw of those lineman in buffalo not coming with him.
there is a lot more to coaches/players Then results. That's only a small portion of what teams look at when evaluating someone.

It does not work the same way for coaches and players in this situation. Doug Marrone is trying to get a HC job after years of being an assistant. The Jaguars will get no compensation if another team hires him away.

Why not? I'm genuinely curious. Why would it not work that way? If you have a guy who you believe is quality coaching material why would you grant permission to a division rival and face him twice a year in a league where you need to win your division? From a business minded fashion this makes very little sense. Look what Marrone did with the Buffalo team he took over that was much worse than the team Rex has now and still had the better record. Why have the option to deny the request if it's not the way the league works?

If we didn't have Bortles and we tried to trade the Tacks for Goff as #1 pick this year knowing we are in their division it would affect their decision (if they believed he was a good prospect) so how is the scenario much different? They should deny us. In the end it comes down to winning games and you don't give any help to your own division in any capacity.

The decisions of the Texans, Titans and Colts indirectly affect us.

Any predictions on what team Doug Marrone works at next season? I hope it is not Tennessee.

If the Tacks get Marrone it probably goes up from 80% to 99% they take Tunsil

Because coaches aren't under the rules of the CBA.

It is very likely that there is at least a verbal if not written agreement that the jags would not block Marrone from interviewing for a HC position.

How is he a good coach? He really hasn't done a ton here to warrant that and walked out on his last team

If you haven't seen improvement from our online from last year then you dont know football. He also had success in Buffalo with little talent.

Doug Marrone "walked out of his team" after a 9-7 season. How can you call somebody with a winning record a bad coach?

Lol, walked out. He had an option in his contract.

Exactly. I don't understand why people make a big deal about this. It is the same thing as players voiding years on their contracts.

You are what your record says you are and went 9-7 with the Bills.

Walked out? He made a smart business move when new owners came in. He took the option in his contract.

Blake was the most sacked QB in the league and his record with Buffalo 15-17 lol.

6-10 to 9-7. Tell me, who was his QB that he won 9 games with?
