Quote:OMG its like you guys cant read. Did I say he played like Joe Montana?

You said he played well which he did not (and which Bortles did not).  Why did you turn into a teenage girl all of a sudden?

Did Mariota turn the ball over? Did he make quick reads? Did he put some touch on the passes? Did he use his legs well? He's extremely limited as far as weapons. He played well relatively speaking. I gave bortles his props dont get your panties twisted.
You have to earn respect...we won on a couple of great plays made by talented players (in spite of our coaching).

We barely beat a bad 2-7 team with late game "heroics."

We don't have a signature win or showing against a legitimate team.

We proved today to be the better team out of 2 not-so-good teams.

I could care less about disrespect since in a lot of ways we don't deserve respect.

Or you could stay on topic.  You said he played well.  He did not.  Simple stuff.  He also looked lost even when he had time and never took any chances.  He threw the safe pass more than not which made him predictable.  If he wasn't gifted penalties he would have given his offense 6 points for a chance to win. Wow, what a performance.  Both QB's played poorly.  Period.

Wow,some cold hard truth around here for once. Kudos to you sir!

Wow were talking about the QBs. How the hell did I get off topic? Its subjective we disagree. Im not gonna sit here and convince you what the truth is.
Who cares? The most important thing about this game is that Dubya.

Quote:What were their passer ratings?

Look it up and let me know
It's tv, they say what they say to attract interest. They are told what to say. No one goes rogue on tv broadcasts. They just make it look spontaneous

I was going to type "who cares?", but you did it for me. Then I typed it anyway.

MissJagsFanatic will probably want to know who tells them what to say. And then ask how many passing yards did Bortles have since he was the 3rd overall pick. And he went to college at UCF.

Im not sayin I want them to crown us the new AFC power house I'm sayin give us some credit for getting the win, all they talked about post game was how good Mariota is. I don't care what the record is, the Allen duo needs to be respected for what they are doing this year. So they were 2-7, so what!? its a divisional game, those are always tough! Plus we could've easily killed them on the score board had in not been for blakes pick in the redzone and that teribble 3 straight runs with Shoe lace inside the 5. Only team we play left wth a winning record is Atlanta. Cheer up, man.

Mariota had a 83

Bortles had a 88
Quote:I have no idea, they're just salty because Bortles had  2 really bad turnovers and failed to capitalize against a beat up defense. I thought both guys played pretty well considering the horrible blocking by both lines, and the serious lack of any support cast for Mariota. Overall it was an ugly game between two really bad teams.
one really bad team and one team about to be tied for 1st place in the division..  lol tacks are garbage.
Quote:Well to be fair hes working with what he has. That kid is going to be a problem. You dont think?

Sure is, given weapons, he could be dangerous. But I do question his arm strength.
I feel like people throw around "weapons" too much with no regard for how much worse our OL and pass rush is than theirs. If Mariota had our receivers with his OL, he would look better, as would Bortles.

Quote:Does Marshall Faulk have something against our team. Post game all he did was disrespect our team. First he talked about how boring the game was (that part I don't have a problem with). Then he goes on to say Mariota out played bortles (bortles had more yards, a better comp %, and a TD). He then goes on to say if mariota and Bortles played with equal weapons mariota would be much better. Final (the worst insult) Rich talked about how the Allens were beast and Marshall shook his head with a disgusted look and said "stop it Rich"... Faulk need to stop with that [BAD WORD REMOVED], he had nothing good to say about us after this win.

Oh that [BAD WORD REMOVED] also kept referring to bortles as a 3rd year QB vs a rookie mariota. We all know Blake is in his 2nd year

You know what?   If you win, it doesn't matter what they say about you.   If you lose, it hurts, but if you win, who cares.   Scoreboard.
Quote:Blake turned it over twice. Mariota with less talent did well. Thats not a slight.
That is quite true, that statement isn't a slight.

when he was shaking his head he was doing it because of richs previous remarks about the game being hard to watch.......etc etc. had nothing to do with the allans comments

You can tell they are coaching Mariota to be "safe" with the ball.  On the last play of the game their wide receive was in a soft spot in the zone and was there for the jump ball.  He held on to the ball a second too long and took the sack.  I think I would have had a heart attack if he was more aggressive on the play.

You give any QB more talent around them and it helps them out.  I think he will be a good QB for them but he is going to have the exact same issue as Bortles when they change the coaching staff in the off season.  It is really going to come down to how hard he is willing to work.  He seems to have the demeanor for the position.  Will he translate and improve?  Well we will get to watch 2 times a year.

Back on topic..   For casual NFL fans, yeah this was a boring game.  I'm not a big Marshal Faulk fan off the field or in broadcasting.  And I sure as hell wasn't a fan of the Eddie George introduction.  Seriously no Freddie T?
