Quote:I do believe London is outside of Jacksonville. Way way outside.

LOL I meant a game that was not officially labeled a home game. My bad.
Quote:I mean if the NFL wants to start this crap of announcing the calls that weren't made maybe they would want to talk about the long run by Flacco to extend a drive earlier in the game where there were at least 2 holds that weren't called? No? Didn't think so. Ridiculous they would even mention this. There are several missed calls in every game.

I was going to mention that. They fixated on one crazy play at the end, but ignored all the others. The teams may have never been in that situation if other missed penalties were actually called.
Wonder if the officials are thrown under the bus for all of the holding calls that go uncalled or the disparity on illegal contact and pass interference.

OBJ had a TD; at least Golden Tate would agree and it was taken away.
How about Walter's sideline catch last week? F'in NFL and their zebras

Ed Hochuli said Odell Beckham did not retain possession all the way to the ground. He had to jump up to get it, then lost control before both feet were down. Good call. I like that crew.

What does Golden Tate have to do with it?
Quote:I was okay with the call be use at that point I didn't have the faith in Meyers to make the PAT. What was ridiculous was the fact that the DB bear-hugged Hurns for 8 yards right in front of the official.

I do understand going for 2 to go up 7 points, that's probably what the game/score/gametime left tells you to do, but there was a chance you would need Meyers to kick another FG, so why not let him go ahead and kick the xtra point attempt, especially since he had just missed that 26 yd FG, to put you up 2 FGs?

If he would have attempted the xtra pt and missed it, OH BOY that would have been awful, no doubt, but I just thought giving him a shot at kicking it was the thing to do at that time.

I understand not having faith in Meyers to make the xtra pt, but if that is the case, then you go out and get a kicker that you do have faith in to make an xtra pt.
Ya i have 0 sympathy
A win is a win is a win, and a Jaguars win is all that and more.

Of course you could also argue about the play call on that TPC. Should it have been a run by Yeldon? A pass in the opposite direction? I could go on about that but you get the idea. However it was ridiculous that nobody flagged the defense for pass interference.

Hindsight is 20/20. If the ball was caught, would there be as many posters complaining we should have put Jason Myers on for a PAT?

Officials miss calls all the time, the Ravens should be more upset at themselves for their missed opportunities to win the game rather than blown calls by the refs. If their DB catches that easy INT on the play before that the game is over. Tough call but they squandered their own opportunities.

I don't think that's an unfair comment to make because it was a fluke. Had this player NOT committed the infraction, it would be the Ravens feeling a little better today...........NOT the Jags.

I agreed with rocdee the other day. And now Baconator.... what's happening?!?!?!

Yeah I saw that.  I think the NFL is full of it.  I watched that play several times on my DVR now and the OL was definitely set.  It was really just a boom boom kind of play but unless I understand the rule wrong, they don't have to have their hands down.

If you can re-watch, say "set" when the line sets and "hike" immediately and you'll see what I mean.  They were set.

I am sure that DB is going to blame himself for losing the game. Anybody who drops an easy interception would do that. But in the end it came down to Elvis Dumervil's face mask grab.

Of course we almost squandered it too. It goes both ways.

What rule are you referring to? I never heard or read anything about the hands down part. No matter how much time is left in the game, "set" means the same thing.
We should've dominated the game. D getting all those turnvers. Go figure Blake would play like crap. He has got to stop holding the ball so long. He throws it away when he has time and rushes it. Then holds it when he is out of the pocket and takes a sack.

Yeppers, I agree.  I was asking if there was a rule I had never heard of before.

I think he is remembering playing high school football.

Damn you just made yourself look dumb.  Re-read my post.

Isn't the word sack only used when a quarterback is in the pocket?

Every week we fail to score off some turnovers. That is nothing new.
