I'm on the "Keep Gus" train. Because it's all about Blake to me. He progresses and we get better. He is he number 1 priority.
Coaches hold players accountable. Not give pats on the butts for getting toasted for a TD or missing an extra point. We have some really good talent I think we are a few players and a coach away from really competing for and in the playoffs. I used to believe in Gus at this point I just don't see it happening any longer.
If anyone doesn't realize that the weak link on the team is the coaching, they've had one too many Teal Kool-aids.    A good coach and we'd be tied for the top of the AFC South instead of being bottom-dwellers in a historically bad division.
Son, if you want to keep working here, stay off the drugs.

He's not going anywhere this year anyway, but I think those that demand he be fired immediately if not sooner are too entrenched in their position to be swayed by the OP or this post. I expected 6 wins during preseason. I'm still confident we'll get there. I think 6 wins was one of the more popular predictions on this board at that time but the board does, in general, seem to be in a tizzy about the current state of affairs and about the prospects of Gus remaining as coach. And that's regardless of the fact that 6 wins is still entirely attainable and that with the exception of one game, all of the games we've lost have still been in question into the 4th quarter if not decided in the final minutes. Maybe it's just a very vocal minority but the poll about firing Gus suggests otherwise.

This is how it looks in year three climbing out of the talent void that was created by the drafting of Gene Smith and the subsequent gutting of the roster by Caldwell, which by the way was specifically done to get us in a position to draft someone like Blake in the first couple of years of the regime. The playoffs are gravy if it happens for us this year, which seems less likely as the clots seem like they're pulling things together and look like a good team again. But I don't think that this team rattling of a couple wins in a row is outside the realm of possibility. This might be a completely different conversation if that happens in a couple of weeks as we're still only a game and a half back from the clots with 8 games left to play. Stranger things have happened and seem to happen every year in this league.

Lol
While I may not agree, at least you made a thread with an argument outlining your view point other than "Gus sucks fire now"...

So it is tweeted.  So it shall be done
Dude, the Jaguars should make Peyton the highest paid coach in the NFL...  Period.

But that's not what was reported...all that was said is that the Saints would let Payton explore his options.

If Payton's indeed available, he'd have to be high on the list. Very high. I still like the idea of Hue Jackson or Greg Roman.

Hue Jackson sounds like an interesting candidate.  Not sure I'm feeling Greg Roman...

Payton, to me is the belle of the ball...  So handsome...  So romantic..  So handsome and romantic...

Roman made Kaepernick look like Randall Cunningham.  That alone makes him worth a look imo.
I hate to be the dark horse here.  But Car Michael JR. won games when Payton was gone.   Might want to look at him.

I'd be ok with giving Pete Carmichael a look. More than ok, actually, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Saints handed him the job if Payton leaves.

No disrespect.  As an ex Eagles prior to Jags.   No one will ever look like Cunningham. Sides maybe his son.

I wish the Jags had a player like him.
