IIRC, it was both.  One short term, the other long term.

 

Which reminds me... since Andrea's gone and the combo of Daryl and Carol has taken up her role on the show...

That was part of his character. He so wanted to be like Rick going all the way back to the days they were working together as cops. He looked up to him, a lot.

Rick: Lori/Jessie/Andrea

and

Michone: Tyrese/Morgan/Ezekiel 

 

I remember they had a bonding moment when she found out he was a headcase like her, but I don't remember anything else.

Never seen the series because I don't really understand the desire to watch zombies when you can simply go outside a big city & see them in reality.

Jesus is his nickname. Paul Monroe is the character's actual name in the comics. Tom Payne is the actor portraying the character. 

The next two episodes should be good, I used to think Negan would be seen at the finale, but now I'm thinking a lot sooner.

Readers of the comic... do you think the Michonne Rick relationship means that we won't see Ezekiel on the show?

 

If Michonne is going to take up Andrea's role, is there much need for Ezekiel?  He seems like more of a fantasy/comic character than one fit for TV anyway.
