Quote:I really don't know how to respond to that...
because aren't walking, eating cadavers operating the exact opposite of how they usually do?
Isn't that kinda the point?
Yes, but we are talking about a
real entity - in a virus.
Whatever, if they wanted to take the host-pathogen route to the dead and non-living, so be it - it's still a good show.
Also, I don't think what you said is the point of the virus in the show. It's just a lack of understanding, or a disregard, in how a virus works - but I understand that it makes telling the story a lot easier.
Quote:Ive always thought of it as the walkers have the contagious virus in their mouthes but their blood has a different form of the same virus. No logic behind it, just my assumption filling in the blank until I have a better answer.
I've always thought or it as everyone has the virus but it's dormant until the bite of a Walker whom the virus has gone live in acts as a venom causing death then the virus becomes active and no longer dormant.
That's why chopping off limbs fast enough can prevent death the bite doesn't turn you it kills you then you turn.

We're talking about the undead in a tv show, the real life properties of
anything are whatever they want them to be. That's why the inverse properties of life and death can apply to both the body and the virus.

Ah much better explanation.
So Im assuming there is an active and dormat parts of the virus.
The walkers have it active plus some sort of venom in the mouth to help spread death by causing death.
The humans have it dormant. The virus can only be active when the host is dead and it is non deadly to humans because all the walker blood splashing hasnt resulted in anything negative except for broken psyches.
I do like to find the "rules" and boundaries of shows and movies. TWD is one of the harder shows to figure out the rules behind the virus since it is mainly about the human characters. I do wish they would occasionally drop small hints. I guess I hope Fear TWD gives us a better insight into the virus and its origin.

One of the things that's always bothered me was the turn rate into a walker. That was addressed on Fear The Walking Dead. Shane turned in the blink of an eye and yet Bob took what seemed like an eternity! I was happy to hear them address this in passing on the other show. I've ALWAYS wanted them to give a hint as to why a bite actually turns anyone. Maybe, like you said, FTWD will make mention of this as well.

And like other diseases, and sicknesses, people's bodies react to it in different ways. Certain things can be in a person's body but never show signs for years as things sit in incubation.

True. I just like to know what the rules are. When I have to completely suspend any logical thinking when watching a TV show, I think it's fair that they at least stick to some rules so the already implausible doesn't become a distraction with the details, for me at least.
Edit: And like I mentioned, they addressed this on Fear, which I was happy about.
I think we already got a glimpse of Negan . I was watching the show with my wife who had never seen the show and in season 5 when the terminites are having their flash back to when they were locked up in the box car, the door opens up and you see a siloute of a man in a jacket. He has the same build and hair cut as Negan. It would make sense because the group at terminus was originally good until they were taken over.
Ok So when someone gets bit, the bacteria from the bite is actually what causes eventual Death.(From Robert Kirkman I believe).
And SurferJag(Quotes do not work at work) When they are escaping Terminus and Glen says they have to let that guy out of the trailer, then runs out crazy and screams then gets bitten. They are the same guy, Kirkman has admitted this. Look at the face tattoos. Plus Negan is in DC where terminus was Atlanta. I just don't see someone following/Beating the group to the exact place they traveled to.
Negan will be showing up at the end of this season, to hopefully show us Who Lucille is(cant wait) and hopefully Daryl gets to meet her!
*Sources* I have read every comic and watched every episode. I've also read letter hacks(Letters to editor in the comics) and Kirkman reveals a lot of stuff there.

I saw these 2 replays of Glen's death on another person's blog at moviepilot.com, and just wanted to share them with everyone. That was one awesome episode, and so (cough) gut wrenching (cough).
With that said, I don't think Glen is necessarily dead. As the 2nd video I linked shows, those intestines are like all up in Glen's throat, which is anatomically impossible. Also, the way they fell, kinda implies that what's his name falls on top of Glen.
As for the crawling under the dumpsters, let's remember that in a huge crowd within a tight space, it's hard do do anything. Glen can crawl under the dumpster, and the walkers are all pushing in on each other to the point that they can't bend over to get to him. From there all they need is to hear maybe 1 or 2 gunshots from Alexandria to get them moving back in that direction.
I think the Wolves are still attacking Alexandria at the time when all heck is breaking loose in that alley. There's a chance right? I hope he's still alive.
I was annoyed with Glen in season 2 and 3, but season 5 and now this season has made him one of my favorites. Big ups on the poster, forgot who, you mentioned the dumb (Bad Word Removed) reference. I noticed that too, and turned to my wife and said that is not good news for Glen. But then again, he said that to Rick in a spot that looked like Rick was toast. So maybe that's foreshadowing of an impossible situation for Glen AND Rick in which they make it out just barely... Again, there's a chance, right?
Also, how gangster is Carol? She's literally become one of my favorite characters in the last 2 seasons as well!
Did the guy at the CDC actually specifically call it a virus and has it been confirmed to be a virus? We're discussing it as if it should behave the way viruses normally behave, but for all we know it could be something completely different.

what else could it be? I'm hopping this Morgan flashback ends up with some kind of payoff
They spent 90 minutes on an episode that coulda been done in 20.. What a let down..
I thought it was written well enough, and the both actors held their own (which is saying a lot by TWD standards), but I really didn't care about any of this [BLEEP] after last weeks episode. If this followed episode 2 then I might have felt different about it.
pretty much, this was an episode that if in a different order probably would be better received, but the cliff hangers on everything else then they throw a flashback at us. booooo
I thought it was a good episode but very cruel of them to place that slow burn drama on the following week after all that mayhem. I know it was by design, but I was shaking my fists at the show!!

They wanted to torture their fans for another week and continue the speculation of the Glenn dead/not dead debate. Pretty smart on their parts , albeit frustrating!
I've also come to the conclusion that Glenn is NOT dead. Not sure how he gets out of that, but was that the first time a killed off character was not a guest on the Talking Dead? I think so. Therefore NOT THE FATHER!

He just hasn't been put down yet. Maggie will do that next week, then he'll be on Talking.
The Morgan flashback is quite possibly my favorite episode in the series. I can't think of another that comes close.
It illustrates pretty much what the entire series is about in a single episode.
