Quote:So it was confirmed that the dude with the chick that took off with Daryl's crossbow and bike is, indeed, Dwight from the comics.
That's interesting, I assumed they didn't show Leg's face, was because he was Dwight's character and it would have gave it away. This all has me thinking that
Daryl will end up getting high fives from Lucille and not Glenn
My boy Glen!

Great thought.
I bet Dwight is punished for his sloppiness. Some things to be ironed out between him an Negan.

What would be great is if they would tell a different story than the comics. This whole same story arc with minor details changed thing is kind of annoying. I dont like constantly watching to see if something I know is going to happen happens.

I'm glad I never read the comics. Spoilers in any form ruin it for me.

Are they currently writing the comics or have they all been written? If they're currently writing them, how far ahead are they?
<I need a "let me google that for you" link>

They're about 50 issues ahead I believe. That's roughly 2/3rds of the series down at this point in the tv series, though the timelines are different.

I'm reading the comics in Compendium form. Each is 48 issues per Compendium.
flsprtsgod is pretty much spot on. In the last couple TV seasons, they've really put the pedal down and have moved fast forward through the comic material. Compendium two (comics 48-96) are getting breezed through pretty quickly (pretty much everything after the prison/Governor.) Although there are three compendiums out now (covering 144 issues,) the series is still ongoing (current issue is 147 and counting.) The show is now somewhere around the start of Compendium 3, which is roughly 48+ issues from where the comics currently stand.
Since they are two very different mediums, the material post prison/Governor is pretty drawn out in the comics and has understandably been rewritten to enhance the drama in the TV series.
I would recommend any fan not be deterred from reading the comics, or reading ahead of the material the TV show is covering. Each is a joy in their own way, in both their similarities and differences. One will not spoil the other.
One thing I will say is, keep an *eye* out for Carl in the season finale.

The next episode should be roughly issue #83, I thought at the beginning of the season and still think the finale will be issue #100. I wouldn't mind original material, the only thing I will say is when the show tried to branch off on their own it's been noticeably worse (essentially everything they did with the guvnuh storyline...that whole god awful Beth storyline). The only difference would probably be Terminal but that was essentially 2 episodes before it just became the Hunters storyline.
If you like the show, you'd probably love the comics...you'd probably like the comics even if you hate the show, the telltale games also have a pretty good original story.

Nah, we've gotta have some kinda weird sexual relationship between him and Sasha so she can have another big downward spiral when he does die. That girl just exists to be tortured on this show.
