Quote:Then your point is baseless.  I was vehemently opposed to Tebow coming to Jax for lots of reasons.  And still am, though I do think he would be better than Henne.  He could probably win some games too, but he is too toxic for too many reasons so is best avoided just as Caldwell wisely did.

And I am just arguing devil's advocate for the most part..  McDaniels isn't even necessarily my first suggestion, but he 'should' be on the list of candidates.

I see you are back to your childish insults...  so endo convo..

you all are the same group that supported Gabbert (endlessly it seemed..) and even Mularkey some of you.  Same old...same old...  how is it the Jaguars website 'admins' weren't thrown out with the rest of the garbage from that era??

Look, I don't dig the elementary school insults...    GROW UP already...

Here we go again.  You take offense.  That's fine.  Truth hurts sometimes even if you don't want to admit why you really like McDaniels.

I supported Gabbert AND Mularkey.  I even supported Coughlin and Del Rio.  I also support Gus and the current team.  Last time I checked, that's what fans do.  Perhaps you're of the ilk that if you're not complaining, you're not a fan.  I see it like this.  Every player, coach, or front office person should be given the opportunity to prove what they are capable of without demanding they be replaced the first time they face adversity.  You disagree, and you want a list of candidates for a job that's not available.  That's fine.  Whine as you see fit.

I would love to hear your definition of "first time" and "adversity"....

I support Gus and Dave...until they are no longer Jaguars. That doesn't mean they are the best thing out there. I've been pretty openly criticizing Dave.

That said, McDaniels is not the solution. He's the typical example of a great coordinator, but bad HC.
It's one thing to say Bradley is not doing a good job. Because as of right now, you could say he hasn't.

But to suggest a clown like McDaniels is laughable. He was a disaster in Denver.

More baseless comments..

You're an admin...   find ONE post of mine positive of Tim Tebow to support your claim.  My last comment is the most positive thing I have ever said about him, and all I said was he is likely better than Henne.  My guess is he has a better winning pct. too.  And if you can't find one, at least be man enough to retract your statement and apologize for lying to other forum members about my position on that particular player.

Then we will see just who the whiner is..  and you whine more than almost anyone on here..  ANYONE critical of what we see out there. And you have a large cadre to your rear.  (I'm being kind)

Fine, you have supported every loser going back to Tom Coughlin (NOT a loser)..  AND you did so until they were at long last f i n a l l y canned, to the long-term detriment of the team and the organization as a whole.  JDR's last season was a disaster for the whole organization..  he quit on the team, and himself.

You are welcome to your opinion of what a fan is, same as I.  My version is different.  Root out the things that are PREVENTING us from winning, and replace with things that work.  And no, not at the FIRST sign of adversity.  Losing 3 openers in a row is enough for me..  Our record is an utter embarrassment these last years... and it doesn't even show the real TRUTH, that half of the paltry wins came in meaningless games..

At least you admit you are an apologist.., I'll give you that.

Not me..  I want to win, whomever's head rolls.  I have supported Dave, and Gus, and most especially Khan.

Gus - I've seen enough.  He doesn't hit it for me at the podium, totally uninspiring, just as he is on the field celebrating foolishness at meaningless moments.

Dave - I'll give him a B-.   Some good things, but plenty to off-set.

Khan - I love the guy..  I wish he would buy me a real HC, and at the moment... a safety.  Among other things..  I'm grateful for Clemons and JT !!

What offends me is your making baseless comments about me on the forum with no supporting evidence.  Prove your point..   You can't

Unfortunately, we'll just have to take your word for it since any debates that went back to the point where Tebow was an actual consideration are long since gone.  Even admins can't get to the stuff that's been archived.  If you're not a Tebow fanboy, then apologies for assuming you were based on your peculiar affection for McDaniels.

Regarding supporting losers, you probably need to check that.  Once it's clear someone isn't up to the task, I'm hardly a fan.  In fact, specifically where Del Rio is concerned, I was done with him a year before he was fired, and posted exactly that at the time.  I know that some of you will challenge that, but only because when I express my discontent, unlike some on this board, I say it, and I move on because I realize my opinion, even if I continue to pound it in every thread, has no bearing on what this team is going to do.  I don't push that agenda into every discussion and demand the team fire someone incessantly just so I can pat myself on the back when they eventually do.  That's not the way I operate.  If they fire the guy or not, makes no difference.  I'm STILL going to support the team because that's what fans do.  I don't expect anyone to agree with every move the team makes, nor do I expect everyone to agree with me.  I simply don't see the logic in incessant whining about things we have zero control over. Maybe it's just me, but I have more important things to worry about.

I love how you labeled me an apologist when that's actually not true at all.  I guess if we're going to make blanket assumptions, then you're a bibber, right?  Don't confuse not whining constantly about something with being an apologist.  Don't confuse a willingness to allow things to develop with being an apologist.  History has proven more often than not that if you allow something time to work itself out, it will, one way or another.  Sometimes it lands on the positive side, and others not so much.  Regardless, none of us have control over what happens beyond our own personal choices like buying season tickets or merchandise, watching the games, listening to the shows, posting on boards like this, etc.  That's what we can do.  That has zero influence over the team, so thinking that you're somehow high minded and something special because you're good at whining doesn't do anything other than make you miserable.  If that's what you want, have at it.

The whiners on this board are easy to identify.  They're the message board GMs.  The message board coordinators.  The message board head coaches.  They know best, and they whine and complain when things don't happen in the manner they expect because, well, things change instantly in Madden.

I'm terribly sorry that you're bothered that I assumed you were a Tebow fan.  I enjoy the declaration that you don't like the grade school insults as you're calling me garbage.  Nothing like a little hypocrisy to wind up your day.  Now, go root out all those obstacles preventing the team from being successful.  I'm sure the front office is clicking refresh just waiting on pins and needles for your opinion.

I just wanted to put in bold the most important parts of your comment.  I agree 100%.
Quote:When Khan hired Gus, he mentioned a few things. Wanting to win and working with someone who he likes. He said something along the lines of not wanting to win with someone he didn't like and not having a coach he likes that couldn't win. Gus is out on a narrow branch right now with the Win/Loss ratio, but he is universally liked in that building. My point here is that McDaniels may have the Xs and Os down, but he was notoriously difficult to work with which tells me his credentials may earn him another shot at being a HC, but it won't be here.
Caldwell hired Gus not Kahn

The whiners on this board are easy to identify..   the moderators and administrators, chief amongst them.  All you and your cadre of followers EVER do is WHINE about fans that are critical of the team..

Then, you attack them..  Me, and others.  Making baseless comments, or name-calling about them that you cannot support, with heavy doses of insults.  Then, all your little weenie friends pile on.    we suck.. get used to the criticism till things get turned around.  So yeah, I replied in kind with an offhanded insult, because that is what I think of your methods.  See the order of comments.  You began the attacks by attempting to discredit me with false statements.  Not once, twice. And it's an obvious hollow apology.  "Unfortunately,"    yeah, for you, because you cannot support your misstatements.

Bibber is one of you and yours' weenie terms.  Like 'birtherism'..  lol      So, an additional insult with your "apologies"??

Criticizing a team with the track record of this organization is hard NOT to do..  Check my posts..  I'm not always critical, and I support them EVERY Sunday no matter the awfulness of the performance.  And I have done so since 1996.

Nothing "peculiar" about recognition of McDaniels' success, and I stated it was only a suggestion.  He will be a HC one day soon, wait and see.  And he will have more success than his last outing.

I think you are, and have been an apologist since even before I joined the forum.  And others agree, I have read as much over the years.  So, you bib me (did I really use that term?), and I'll apolog you.

Look, I'm sorry I engaged with you.  I meant to avoid it.  And I will offer an apology as well, but I will fight back if provoked.  Your comments were, and are, baseless.  It's best if we avoid each other, and I am willing.  Unless the object of administrator is to chase off ANYONE critical of nearly anything..  if that is your goal, keep at it, you will likely succeed.  I'm sure you have succeeded with others too.

You are fond of saying that fan commentary, in your oft used wording, has "zero effect".  Not true.  Words matter, and they eventually find their mark.  You want to see things "play out".  I have seen enough from Bradley, so with each new loss minced with unpreparedness and the inability to make meaningful in-game adjustments, I will continue to be critical.  Two weeks from now, being a Jaguar fan will mean watching college football for draft prospects..  I've had enough of that.

This team needs all the help it can get.  If there were such thing as a 'contraction team', we would be it.

whatever..  you have your own hypocrisies..  I have never heard anyone 'whine' sooo much about 'whiners'..   it's laughable.  Let's agree to disagree, I promise I will do my best.
Bibbers and apologists..... Classic.

Get some new terms here people. I'm bored.
I like franks and beans, along with some potato salad.

I'd like to get back to the original question. The pros about firing Gus are obvious. He has proven to be an ineffective gameday coach. Not all successful assistant coaches can win as a head coach. If the Jags have only won 1 or 2 games by mid-season and are not making significant improvements, Caldwell and Khan will have no choice but to make this move.

The cons to this move are strictly personal. Gus Bradley is impossible to not like. His positive attitudes about football and life in general are great. Unfortunately, this does not win games. This team needs to turn it around this week. Although they don't have great talent and key players are injured (especially Thomas, Marks and Lee), Caldwell has acquired enough good players for the Jags to be competitive each week and win at least 6 games this year. I really believe that guys like Bortles, Yeldon, Thomas, A. Rob, Linder, T. Smith, Poz and Colvin are good players and some of these have pro-bowl potential. The depth is better than the past few years, so Bradley would be the first to say he has no excuses.

I really hope the team can turn it around this week, because if they don't they will be 0-4 and Bradley's chances of surviving the season are minimal. It will be very hard to win, because Miami is a better team and the absence of Cyprien and Joeckel added to the guys that missed last week put them at a great disadvantage. I believe their only chance is to run the ball behind Linder and Parnell to open up the passing game later on. Personally, I can't remember a more important home game for a Jaguar head coach and I am hopeful that the outcome will be the turning point for the coach and the team for the rest of the seson.

Lol fbt bringing back the Madden insult as if anyone gives a damn.

Probably would get owned against anyone just playing 4 verts for 4 quarters.

Just user a LB to cover the TE and wait for the interception. I use to struggle with this back in the day! I use to only play with the DT and attempt to get sacks lol.

I can't believe we made it this long until a 'franks and beans' usage.

And now a "fanks and beans" reference, what is this MB coming to?
