Apologies for misaligned columns, tabs don't translate and I'm not using a monospace font.
The regular season of the 11th Annual TWITAFCS ended in a three way tie for first place! Congratulations to Byron LeftTown, cland and snowwolf776 for get 40 of 56 picks correct! These diehards made sure to get their picks in every week, and probably regret that they weren't throwing down real cash at one of them sketchy gambling sites, given their success. Good luck finding a crown that fits three heads at once, guys!
The make your picks matter prize goes to unf_nashvillian, who hit on a whopping 77% of their picks! carp8dm narrowly trailed at 75%, but only made 4 picks. unf kept that mark up over 48 picks for the season. While you admire your plaque, you can only wonder what might have been if you didn't miss a few weeks along the way.
We had 19 participants this season with a lot of pickers fizzling out as the season drug along. Maybe that's because the division was not too exciting, but we'll be back for season 12 and I'll try to announce this in other sections of the board (mods willing) to see if we can lure a few members from other places into the deep dark dungeon that is the AFC South section. This is one of my favorite things about duvalpride, Bullseye is a legend for getting us started over a decade ago. As long as I can, I'll do my part to keep it going.
Of course, the NFL is nice enough to let every division into the playoffs, so the AFCS still has picks to be made. I think it's best to keep that aside on its own for giggles, since we have a limited opportunity for picks and I also think the winners of the regular season deserve recognition. We'll keep the picks going, but I think everyone mentioned above deserves to be called a champ. Well done!

A situation with Anton Harrison |

I feel he's settling in just fine. But, I had a thought about how the new staff will evaluate the OL. If, in the case, the Jaguars take BAP and it happens to be an OT. Do they move Anton Harrison to RG? I know RG needs to be upgrade. During the draft process, analysts felt that Anton could slide into guard at the next level.
This is just a thought. I would prefer he stays outside at RT. And just grab an upgrade either in FA or the draft in the early rounds.
I'll put a poll up.

Awe...Shazir is down hurt on the Chargers first drive. Let's wish him well.
Justin Herbert throws a HARD ball.
The Chargers offense is what I want the Jags offense to be. Methodical, physical and run based.

The Safety position |

Out of every position on the team I think this is where the team degressed the most. Also one of the biggest reasons we were last in passing defense.

The good thing for us is safety is one of the deepest positions in FA and the draft. Id honestly like to get 2 new starting safties, 1 in FA and 1 in the draft. We have to bring in 1 quality starter. If we dont get a Trey Smith or a Tee Higgins in FA I hope our big time FA is one of the safties. If not id love to add Justin Reid who has been a big part of the Chiefs great D and wont break the bank but would be a huge upgrade. In the 2nd round of the draft I think we need to come away with one of the top safties in the draft even if it means trading up from the 3rd. I think one of Emmanwori, Starks, or Watts we could with our 2nd round pick. Jahdae Barron would be a great pick in the 2nd as well, the Jim Thorpe award winner who can play S or CB. You have guys like Malachi Moore and Kamari Ramsey who could be had in the 3rd or 4th possibly that could also be upgrades for us.
With that said, this is one of the best years in recent memory if we want to upgrade the safety position in the offseason. It wouldnt be hard to turn one of our biggest weaknesses into a strength with all the very good safeties that will be available. Javon Holland is a FA and would be an amazing get as well. Camryn Bynom is a FA for the Vikings that has played well this year and Talanoa Hufanga will also be a FA. Hufanga could be an interesting get, he will likely a discount being he tore his ACL last year but he is will only be 25 and was an All Pro before the injury. Lots of great options at S this offseason and Baalke or whoever cant mess this up.

Trent Baalke: 2025 Offseason Tasks |

Here is Trent's basic to-do-list. Is he capable?
- Land a capable HC that can build T-Law an offense he'll thrive in
- Get that offense a capable OL - he has recently added Cleveland, Harrison and Morse who are all capable enough - but Little at LT is an injury-prone question mark, and RG would benefit from adding a clear front-runner to start that will aid our short yardage issues.
- There are some intriguing guys at DT right now who may step up, but it certainly seems a stud interior rusher could rapidly change our fortune on defense. Armstead just came out saying he wants to play the middle for the Jags in 2025. That will help. Maason Smith started to flash late in his rookie year, so what will he be in '25? Who would you target to help this group?
- BTJ was a wise choice and has added a boon to our offense despite a bevy of other issues around him on 2024. However - the team lacks another outside receiver capable of keeping defenses honest consistently. If the team retains both Engram and Kirk, this issue is somewhat assuaged, but I'd still love to see Baalke acquire a Z receiver that is much better than what we got from Gabe Davis in 2024.
- SECONDARY - this is the big one, IMO. The other position have seen Baalke land some degree of talent in the past. Even if DT is a bit of a question mark there.
As far as I can tell - Baalke has drafted Tyson Campbell and Jarrion Jones + he signed Darious Williams (and let him walk inexplicably). Other secondary acquisitions have been bad. Though - it appears Nielsen's scheme and deployment may have made that all appear much worse than reality in 2025. A good outside CB+ a good FS and a solid SS would be a boon for this team.
All said - My only real concerns are Baalke's ability to find starters for the secondary and a DT that can disrupt the pocket. (even just one CB and one Safety would make a huge difference)
He hasn't proven adept in filling those areas with talent thus far and he will need to be.
The HC thing is big too, but he's not making that call on his own.
I'm more concerned with what input the HC has on the personnel issues listed above since we have no idea who that will be yet. I believe Pederson was part of the problem in addressing the OL in 2022 and 2023. Hoping the next HC is not a repeat of that.

Since the other thread was more related to firings, figured a thread dedicated to the coaching search would be nice.
So far the Jags have requested to interview
Liam Coen
Ben Johnson
Aaron Glenn
Possibly Vrabel?
As we all know most options will either decline or just not interview. For the obvious reasons.
