And those who emerged as the better of the class?  None were the "consensus" best of class.

Tell me more about how the history shows the 2017 class being "bad".

You missed badly on that class because you didn't know what you were looking at. Your reasoning for Watson not being good was based on the premise that if he was any good he'd be the #1 pick. You were woefully incorrect.

So I'll ask again and see if we can get some actual analysis out of you, what does Drew Lock do better than Haskins other than have a bigger arm? What traits is Haskins missing from his game that makes you think he won't be any good?

I'm not sure how to say differently, that I've already tried to explain several times before, that I don't see anything special that makes ANY of these QBs a "must have" prospect. That's the only point I've ever attempted to make. I don't see any QB in this draft worh taking with our first rounder, regardless of which one is there. There is top talent at other positions that push this QB class way down the list of best available prospects, IMO.

I'm also a bit amused by the "you must agree with me because I'm a QB guru and you're not!" hot takes. Not from you, but certainly from others.

Regarding the QB discussions here, generally speaking these are all opinions, and they're all valid. Some will agree, and some won't. That's the way opinions work.

One must not be so secure in their own opinions if they feel so threatened to incessantly belittle the opinions of others.

And let's not pretend the "show me" retorts are going to change anyone's mind. Folks are typically set one way or a other and are looking for an internet fight, not open enough to actually be swayed by honest debate. They are more interested in hyperbole and personal attacks.

Again, past the first paragraph this isn't aimed at you, but a commentary of these QB debates in general.

Some of these can be cut and paste from previous years, it's the same lines regurgitated. A good example is jags02... he made Lauletta sound like the second coming, all because he was desperate for us to find a QB. Far too many fall for QBs simply because we're in desperate need for one. I learned from that mistake with Sanchez.

If the guy isn't there, he isn't there. If that's the case you get a vet if you want to win now, or take a shot later (than first round) for a guy you develop. That's what I was in favor of with Jackson last season.

I think whoever we draft this year, that we should expect to be drafting next year, too.

When you say "history shows the last few draft classes have been bad" , usually that's a claim that would need to have some evidence to back it up. I'd be hard pressed to find any evidence to prove your point.

All opinions are valid as opinions, but that doesn't mean they are free from being analysed and debated.

You are quite dismissal of people who don't agree with your takes on players so your 4th paragraph can just as easily apply to yourself

I'm much more interesting in cutting to the teeth of what traits players have/don't have and how they could/should develop. Thinking every single QB class is a weak class hyped up by Twitter Scouts is a lazy way out imo

On Jaguars Today, DiRoc said the Jaguars “loved” Haskins going through the season. Also added that the height issue was/is a concern for us.

What height issue? Haskins is listed at 6'3".

It was in reference to Murray.  He clarified in a follow up tweet.

Going to be a long 3 months coming up.

It was like he went out of his way to add a negative for every positive.

I felt like this analysis was spot on for the most part. Haskins deep game just flat out isn't good, and I've mentioned this concern over and over again. I still think he's the best option in this draft tho because he's very natural and accurate with his short-to-intermediate game. I don't have any issues with Haskins other than his lack of a developed deep game.

O.k. I know that was just one highlight but if he can do that in the NFL, sign me up!

Throwing guys open and throwing with anticipation?

Jags haven't seen a QB do that in 10+ years.

Two of those games were against top 10 Defenses as well.

Apologies.

It is a film session featuring Haskins breaking down his performance against Michigan and why he did the things he did.

Try this...

It's not the top video, it's the one from twitter.

He's breaking down the film with a guy who looks like former Colorado coach Gerry Dinardo.

It's got to be Haskins.  Everything else is a bandaid.  Even if you trade for a vet, you still package your picks and go get Haskins.
