How much pain and suffering is going to be endured right now with some conditioning drills and weight lifting? And even then, I think it's still limited per the CBA rules anyways. It's not the 90's anymore when Coughlin could run his team into the dirt every workout/practice.

I get what you're trying to say with the team building and grind, but that's not going to happen yet, it's not that time. Hell, the draft hasn't even taken place. We don't even have rookies in the building yet man. Pretty hard to have team building when there's a good chunk of players who aren't even on the team yet.

While I don’t have an issue with jalen and telvin skipping this, if they happened to be offensive players, I might feel differently.

The team has made it clear they want everyone there.
Offensive players would be foolish not to begin getting a jump on a new playbook with new terminology. 

Defensive players that consider missing have slightly more rope with which to hang themselves, but if you’re going to skip it, you’d better feel you’re valuable enough to the team to live through a little time in the dog house with some of the staff. (Be able to survive some scrutiny) 

So yes, if you’re not good enough to have a starting role cemented in April, your [BLEEP] had better be there buttering up to the teacher, doing all of those extra credit assignments and leaving a fresh Apple on the  desk on your way out the door each day.

The consequence is little to none if you show up in shape and do your job in June/July. 

But what if you’ve garnered Coughlin’s attention by no-showing and then you get hurt in mini camp - giving another player time to earn your spot? 

There are scenarios where it could be detrimental to a bubble player for sure. For those players — Why unnecessarily drop your stock within the building?

I'm talking Telvin and Ramsey. A 3rd string fullback isn't going to skip workouts. 

As long as they go to camp and put in the work it will have zero bearing, and with Ramsey he can probably skip it all and still be his usual self on game day if we're being honest. The only detriment there is the media aspect and any possible team chemistry stuff , which likely is fine.

I think people need to go actually listen to what the man said.  Highly doubting he was doing anything other than talking about team bonding and the need for everyone being all in.  I don’t get the supposed singling out of anyone at all in listening to it, especially in context to the event, basically like a season starter.

I am talking I listened to it myself, so how Oesher characterizes things to me, after his colleagues reported on it for their own story means little to me.  

Also, this wasn't directed at the team, and so no team directed tone/scolding should be inferred, as in it should not be in terms of a scolding, because that is not what the speech was to begin with.  It was more of a teams come together and suffer together, and the whole team should be there.  I wonder if Cruz listened to it....
