I watched some of it. Thought Haley hitting Ron hard. But what does it matter? Neither has any chance of winning. The most that’ll come out of this is Haley may only lose by 10 pts in NH, which would be considered a win for her, I guess. But Trump will crush her everywhere else.

Also need to remove anyone claiming birth right citizenship without a parent being a citizen.

It's easily done if you enforce laws on companies, stop all money leaving the country or heavily tax it 100%, and build the wall.

Illegals will self deport. For the ones who don't want to leave, offer 1-2 months to leave and priority to apply for legal immigration (after repayment of all federal money they scammed). After 2 months, forced roundup starts. Ban anyone caught from ever entering the country again. If they are caught again, hard labor, country of origin fined for housing them, and then death.

I'll watch Trump and Vivek tomorrow. I wanted to watch the debates live. One of the biggest people make, imo, is waiting until the next day, when everyone rolls out their talking points. I thought DeSantis and Haley both did the same thing. Slight edge to DeSantis, but I'm biased. I think Haley is a globalist neocon. She has good answers to many of the questions, I just don't believe she'll actually do any of it. If DeSantis is globalist, he hides it better. He has at least done VERY unpopular things in Florida, so he has that going for him.

I tell you what, if there was going to be a President to deport these illegals, I would not be the one to want to do it. It's going to be non-stop tear-jerking story after another. If I had an R next to my name, I'd happily let Trump fall on that sword.

I don't know what DeSantis personally believes. His entire campaign has been a train wreck because of the Bush and uniparty people he surrounded himself with, plus his wife that seems to want the position more than he does.

I don't know if he can rebuild his image. He was an easy win for 2028 and now he may not be able to win another position in Florida.

Ending birthright citizenship requires a constitutional amendment which requires 3/4 of state legislatures to agree. I'm not opposed, I'm just telling you it's not going to happen.

Otherwise you could appoint judges who will ignore the law I guess but that's very dangerous, if they ignore the law on one thing what else will they ignore the law on?

And I wonder how personal all this tough talk on immigration gets. If you hire a contractor to lay sod, and you suspect some of his workers aren't here legally, do you confront him? Do you take photos of the workers and send the photos to INS? Or do you mind your own business?

I don’t agree with the threats of mass deportation. It’s empty red meat talk. If it ever came to fruition (which is highly doubtful) it would be rightfully regarded as a humanitarian crisis. Sending people back to a hell they fled benefits no one. There’s no reason to believe that most of the people who came here have any intentions other than to become productive Americans.

Notice I said most. This is where Brain Dead Biden and his cult of idiocy have undermined the safety and the rule of law in our country. The reason for stringent immigration enforcement is to weed out the undesirables. Throwing the door open and hoping for the best is stupid, reckless and dangerous. The left has successfully checked each box.

What candidates should be vowing is to immediately get a handle on the border and then dedicate sizable resources to find and vet the 6 MILLION (and counting) people this administration has blithely allowed to walk across our border. But I fear even that is beyond the scope of what we can do to address this train wreck. We’re stuck with the Democrat game plan which is to hope some of the people, who most assuredly have ties to terrorism and ill will for this country, aren’t able to orchestrate a homegrown terror attack. We’re left with an intractable situation which creates a huge drain on government resources and presents a real threat to public safety.

I think we have to deport a lot of people so that all over the world people get the message that they can't just come live here without permission.  I agree that it will hurt people and ruin lives but people need to know that the law actually means what it says.  People aren't seeing the law respected and it's making them think they don't have to respect the law, and thats a dangerous game that only gets worse.

In a short term labor market point of view, yes it's good to have these extra cheap workers, and sending them back will hurt GDP, but it's still worth doing from a rule of law standpoint.

We need to make it easier for people who are abroad and vetted to get work visas so they can come here legally.  Then we need to be very very harsh on the people who are already here but aren't citizens and don't have visas.  During the Obama years I favored DACA and things like that.  But now I see that these "nice guy" policies only invite more bad actors and more chaos.

I don't think any of us are willing to report the people laying our sod to INS or even ask them to show their visa. But maybe we should be.

Fauci was an honest professional who served his role well, until COVID. Then he was corrupted by the power, prestige and politics created by the multi trillion dollar global wave of money it created.

I'm not going to say he was corrupted, but I am going to say he had too much power, or imagined he had too much power.  In the rush to prevent death I can forgive him and his people for making some recommendations that turned out to be bad ideas.  I forgive him because none of us knew how to react to that.  The media needed someone to be the voice of the federal response and Trump simply wasn't it.  Fauci wasn't prepared for the role either but who was better prepared?
