The one constant in a two-party system is that if one party pushes a limit while in power, and no one stops them, the other party will push the same limit the next time they are in power.
If your people are in power, before you ask them to push limits, you should ask yourself if you're okay with the other party also pushing those same limits to do things that they want done. And that question is inherently a hypothetical question. If you can't think in hypotheticals, you are completely unprepared to cope with a two-party system in a society of laws. If too many of us laugh at hypothetical questions rather than consider them, then too many of us are unprepared to deal with a two-party system and a society of laws. If this continues, we will have a lawless one party system before you know it. The people will have let the incumbents push the limits so far that finally the incumbents will have the power to rig elections or stop elections, effectively locking in the one party lawless state. And don't misunderstand, there will still be laws for a common people in common situations, the part that will be lawless is how the leaders and their friends are allowed to behave. "For my friends, everything. For my enemies, the law."

If you didn't go into the trades you're not going to be gainfully employed and make good money. The need for workers in plumbing, electric, stonemasons, bricklayers, HVAC, and the rest of the trades has been a serious issue for years.
The guy who works on our HVAC when it goes sideways is second generation. His dad owns the company and was the one who installed the heat pump back in 1992 and he and his son are the only two to ever work on it. The son tells us all the time how they're overwhelmed with work because they can't find quality employees. When my nephew comes up from Jacksonville to visit during the summer months he's paid very good money just to be a gopher. He's only 15 so he can't really do much but he's willing to work and our HVAC guy is willing to pay him more than he'd make anywhere else. We are friends with a family who owns and operates electricals. My husband worked for them when he was in college and is how he never had to take out student loans. They have similar problems. They can't hire or keep enough workers. Everyone was told to go to college if they wanted to be successful yet those in the trades, the ones who stick with it, make very good money and are far more successful and have steady work. The college graduates? Not so much and they're already in so much debt they don't even think about changing gears and going to a trade school to learn something that will pay them what they're worth.

BBBBBWWWWWAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAAAA! You think REPUBLICANS push "limits" when they are in power? Are you daft? Those idiots have been given power time and time again and every single time they fumble it away by trying to be chums with their opponents. What a bunch of nonsense, you're just projecting your dem buddies' behaviors onto the Grand Old Spineless Party. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato

Just because there's no evidence it happened doesn't mean it's off the wall. Like if I asked you what would you do if you heard your brother was sick in the hospital. You would answer about making plans to go see him, or you'd say, "actually he and I don't get along" or "I don't have a brother.". You wouldn't say, "you deranged person! Why would you make up an off the wall story about my brother being sick!" The answer was no, and if you guys play the hypothetical scenario, that is one way to see why the answer is firmly no.

My company cannot find enough trained electro-mechanical technicians to fill the openings we have. They have resorted to hiring one or the other and teaching them the other. There is such a demand for trades but for 40+years every kid graduating HS is pushed towards a college degree.

They are always an elaborate, multi faceted, narrow query to push any answers to your preconceived notions. A good hypothetical question should spark an open and honest debate/discussion about the subject at hand. Not pigeonhole responses to fill your needs.

The only reason I presented those hypotheticals Skip Willis is to see if you guys still feel justified coming after me the way you did back in 2018. I've been here since 2005 and kept a low profile. I finally had enough in 2018 when Trump went on Twitter and said "Obama spied on me and my campaign!" And suddenly all of you took that seriously and thought Obama did a Very Bad Thing when Obama actually did things that had been done many times before. I'm still wondering when the lot of you will snap out of it and realize how often the guy has no idea how things work in our government, how often he asserts thing that are meant to rile you up but are actually meaningless or completely lacking in evidence, and how often he plays you for fools, even though many of you actually know better than him.

Ed Martin Named the Top Three Suspects in the Biden Autopen Fiasco
Martin named three top suspects in his probe into the pardons and the autopen: Anita Dunn, Bob Bauer, and Ron Klain. Bauer and Dunn are married, with the former being present for Biden’s deposition with Special Counsel Robert Hur, who was investigating Biden for mishandling classified documents while serving as Obama’s vice president. Bauer claimed that Hur’s account of events wasn’t how he saw things, which made the case for releasing the tapes. Portions were leaked last week where Biden, indeed, sounded awful and forgot when his son, Beau, died. https://townhall.com/tipsheet/mattvespa/...qslUUwnH9g ![]()

Lol, I've been "after you" since Day 1 because you were a smug, disingenuous [BLEEP] hole from the jump. What you were trying to do was, is, and always has been quite evident; you simply aren't anywhere near as smart as you think you are. It's simply hubris, as I've maintained from the beginning. “An empty vessel makes the loudest sound, so they that have the least wit are the greatest babblers.”. - Plato
