A candidate we can agree on?

JMO but this country is doomed if Trump wins presidency.  Both because Trump would be terrible, and we'd be in trouble if enough people actually voted for Trump.  Then again I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to sue his way into the white house.
Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal announced his bid for the 2016 Republican Presidential Nomination.

I updated the list.

I have always liked Bobby Jindal, and will be interested to see how he does.

Thanks for continuing to update the list.

At this time,   Bobby Jindal is one of my top 5 favorites that are in the race and/ or expected to be in the race.     My impression of Jindal is he's more substance than style.

Just curious as to who your top 5 are?

As for me, I'm leaning on supporting Marco Rubio as my top choice.

At this time,  Marco Rubio would be my 6th choice.

My top 5 in order of preference are:

1.  Ted Cruz

2.  Mike Huckabee

3.  Rick Santorum

4.  Scott Walker

5.  Bobby Jindal

I could and would support pretty much every candidate on your list, but I must say that I don't know enough about Scott Walker.

Huckabee and Santorum are deal breakers for me I'd vote for Cruz, Walker or Jindal but I prefer Paul over all of them. I'm still on the fence with Rubio.

^This.

Although the one thing that might get me to vote for Huckabee is that he has come out in favor of the Fair Tax. Getting that through would be such a powerful boost to the economy that it would overcome all of his negatives. But I doubt that he'd be willing to do what is necessary to make it happen.

I've done a bit of research this morning, and have a top 3 so far.

1.  Marco Rubio

2.  Ted Cruz

3.  Bobby Jindal

Something that I've noticed and was discussing with my wife this morning.  All three have a couple of things in common.

1.  All three are sons of immigrants and have a deep appreciation for the opportunity that this country provides.

2.  All three seem to place their focus on the future, and want to solve some of the most immediate problems that really matter (in my opinion).  Immigration, the economy and foreign policy are the most important issues at hand in my opinion.  Also, education is brought into the mix, and I can see where that is an important issue as well.  This is an interesting interview that Marco Rubio did on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

One other thing that is common to my top three is the fact that they are all young, and none of them are "establishment" candidates.

What is amazing to me is, contrast their speeches and interviews with Hillary's speech announcing her candidacy (she seems to be very reluctant to conduct interviews).  How anyone could be a Hillary supporter is beyond me.

Ultimately,  the debates should prove helpful in trying to differentiate the candidates from one another.   But in recent days,  I've been impressed with statements by Scott Walker.   As well as Bobby Jingal.   Any of the 5 candidates I previously listed would at least on this end be better than anyone who has been in the oval office since Ronald Reagan.

While we have opinions on some issues,  I certainly respect the amount of time and thought you put into political opinions and voting decisions.

As much as I like Mike Huckabee on some issues,  my one concern about Huckabee is he might be too nice.   The major reason why I support Ted Cruz over Mike Huckabee at this time is I believe Cruz will be much more willing to do what's unpopular on some issues,  regardless of what the opposition and media say.

Regarding Hillary,  we are in complete agreement.   She will do anything to get elected and maximize her power.    As much as I oppose Liberalism in general,   there are some Democrat candidates that I believe have convictions and wouldn't compromise them the way that Hilliary does.

I was heavily promoting Marco Rubio in 2012 and for a while after he was elected.   While I would still vote for Rubio and currently consider him my 6th choice,    I have been at least somewhat disappointed in him.    It's probably a combination of Rubio not being as Conservative as I prefer ( and thought he was ) and him not going the extra mile to fight when he strongly disagrees with something.   Ted Cruz and Scott Walker are the types that I want on my side in the heat of battle.   Bobby Jindal might fit that category as well but at this time I'm not sure.

Saw Jindal on Fox at 6:00. He's always very articulate and intelligent. I don't think he stands a chance, but he has a great back-story and he knows what he stands for.

Sometimes he does sound as if he running for First Christian rather than president, but he'd more than hold his own in any debate he can get into. I wonder if he'd catch any flack about his birth certificate?

Back in 2011,  Bobby Jindal released his birth certificate.    Even if Jindal does get some flack about his birth certificate moving forward,   I'm fully anticipating that Jindal will be totally open about his birth certificate and his past.    I can't imagine a scenario in which Jindal has something to hide that would disqualify him to be President of the United States.

I meant that as tongue in cheek.

Because he's a God-fearing conservative he won't get the yahoos all fired up about a phony birth certificate issue. Now, some may think his skin is just a little too dark ...

Even though you were kidding,  there's a realistic chance that Bobby Jindal will have to deal with a birth certificate or background issue.   Not only from the left but from his own party.   If a candidate and/ or a major supporter in the Republican Party wants to stop Jindal from getting the nomination for whatever reason ( s ),  Jindal will be put on the defensive.   Yet,  despite that,  like I said earlier,   I'm confident that Jindal has nothing to hide and will be ready for what comes his way.
Updated the list to add Chris Christie.
