I love Cobb and his game but how many times have we seen "number 2" WR's go to other teams and never live up to "number 1" status?

I think Cobb will be a very good number two somewhere if he lands with a decent QB and an OC that doesn't misuse him.
While Rodgers helped him some - he did a good job of getting open, making a number of contested catches and I clearly remember him high-pointing the ball well a few times too. He also did a good job of getting downfield when Rodgers extended plays rolling out. Hmmmmm. Might be a useful skill for a Jags receiver. Just sayin'.
I'd expect his numbers to sag a little bit unless he's with an elite QB in a system that really favors him, but he'll contribute where ever he ends up.
On topic: Every time I think about Blackmon/Robinson/Lee at the top of the jags WR depth chart - I cross my fingers a little tighter. I really think that could be a deadly combo.

It could really be a matchup nightmare for Defenses. Robinson and Blackmon have the physical traits to be devastating blockers on Safeties, and still be very effective pass catchers. While Lee may never be a true blocking threat, his long speed and abilities with the ball in his hands makes him - in my opinion - the more deadly of the three. With those three manning the WR spots - assuming of course that they develop as expected - and even a halfway competent Tight End makes for a dangerous run/pass Offense.

Yep. I hope we get to see that happen. If Bortles can shore up his technique this offseason and not abandon it down the stretch we'll learn lots about these young receivers in 2015. Add J.B. to the picture and their jobs just get a little easier.

There are no matchup nightmares for the jaguars offense that are favorable, in fact all the matchup nightmares are presented as obstacles. Even with Blackmon this pass offense is bottom 10 optimistically.

I'm not sure that's the right word to describe a bottom 10 prediction. :teehee:
23rd offensively would be improvement I guess. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If we got Blackmon back and still had a bottom 10 offense, Bortles isn't the guy.

Not a fan of Cobb. First you have the Aaron Rodgers factor, but more importantly he's purely a slot receiver. Played 87% of his snaps in the slot last year. That likely means not being able to rotate Blackmon, Hurns, or Lee into the slot anymore. Would rather have an outside WR like Maclin (21.4% in the slot) or Torrey Smith (20.6%).

I am getting tired of this. Either the NFL or Blackmon need to get it together and let the Jags know what is up. I have a feeling now Blackmon if he don't communicate with the Jags before the draft.
Its see you later!
