Quote:I think our offense will be a lot better in the 4 games he plays before he's suspended again. Maybe Gus can get him a job at Baskin Robbins.

Baskin Robbins! HAHAH! My side is hurting!! Keep em comin!!!1
Blackmon...

He's a question mark as a player at this point. When he's cleared to play (and we don't know for sure when that will be) will he have his priorities straightened out or will he just go back to what got him in trouble in the first place? Recovery from addictions isn't a short term proposition; typically, he will be spending the rest of his life struggling with those demons. We hope for a complete recovery.

Justin is going to have to re-earn the trust and respect of the franchise and the football community... assuming he wants it. How? (1) By staying sober and not using any illegal substances as deemed by the law and the NFL, and (2) by becoming the game changing receiver he was originally brought here for. Both of these are magnum challenges! You would have to figure that after (more or less) two years off the field there is bound to be some 'rust'. But the greater challenge will be his staying completely away from marijuana and severely limiting any alcohol ingestion. That's just a reality of life if he wants to play in the NFL.

Is he up to it? We don't know.

In the slot running slant and fade routes is where it makes the best impact.  He's not an outside over-the-top guy.  He's Boldin.
Why are we so hyped up for Blackmon? Do you all think he will walk the narrow path.  He comes back Jags need to trade him. Just my 2 cents. :thanks:

Quote:I wonder if Blake Bortles will reach out and invite Justin to his workouts.

That would awesome on so many levels, especially if the offer was accepted.
Agreed.  It would be a terrific gesture.

It's a good thing you're not running the team then.

There's too much talent to trade away after waiting this long to get it on the field.  He sinks or swims with the Jags.
Cobb/Arob/JB/Lee/Hurns

Wow. Did you proof read your brain before you wrote that?

You mean to tell me that we kept this guy through thick and thin just to trade him? You sir are no businessman.

You and like most football scholars here on these forums live on dreams and false hopes. Calling or heads because the team don't pick your way. And you only have to say " Good Im not running the team"  lol you make me laugh.

I get it. Even though I wouldn't do it.

I'm sure the Browns were wishing they traded Gordon before his last suspension.

Sir I don't claim to be a businessman, thank you. But you hold on to these blank dreams and false hopes. One day you'll  get it.
Alteas -> What do you think we could get for Blackmon in a trade?  I honestly don't think any team would give anything before a 5th round pick in exchange.  If we could get a 1-2-3 round pick (or potentially a high 4th), sure I'd trade him.  If it's only  a 5-6-7 round pick, I'd take the risk of keeping him with the potential high reward payoff.

Chris Carter got a 2nd chance and it paid off.  Most don't payoff though.

I'm not living on "dreams and false hopes."  I think the team is handling this the right way.  They've moved on.  If he comes back, they're treating it like a luxury.  If he comes back and fails again, it has less of an impact now than it would have a year or two ago.  If he comes back and succeeds, and lives up to his potential, the Jags win.  Simple as that.

I know some of you "holier than thou" scholars here on these forums think he should have been dumped long ago.  You can conclave with your fellow puritans at FBC downtown on Wednesday.

Better yet, if he comes back and he does live up to expectations, don't cheer for him or the team.

Sir did I hit a nerve, You seem to be really upset. History seems to replay itself.  Sir Keep those dreams and false hopes. Time to move on.

Nobody is stopping you from moving on.

This... I could live with this.

(Though if we're being picky I would prefer Torrey or Maclin over Cobb)
