Quote:I think that the Earth has been here for 6 billion years and that it's sheer hubris for humanity to believe that, even if the "recorded" changes are honestly happening, we have anything to do with it, can change it or that it's anything more than a natural cyclical occurrence. Just like the ridiculous claims made in that stupid 2014 article this week, there's so much that is overstated, assumed and outright taken on faith about ACC that it's absurd that rational people believe those loons. Their models haven't just failed, they've failed in spectacular fashion worthy of disdain and ridicule. And furthermore, we know from all those e-mails leaked years ago that they cherry pick, obfuscate, and flat out lie to cover up what they don't want to be known, that they've been wrong the whole time. And we're supposed to just bow down and change our entire way of life based on their proven false prophecies? Heck no.

Yea, yea.

From your own darned article:

"The big climate news last week was NOAA and NASA announcing that 2014 was the hottest year on record, breaking the highs of 2005 and 2010. But the bigger story got buried: Global warming has continued unabated in recent years."

They don't even acknowledge the lie. But we should totally trust a lefty rag like ThinkProgress.

Oh, you are one of the ones that just attacks people and their responses when you disagree with them. Noted
The disdain for science on the right is getting out of hand. It's a shame.

The Left that eats up faulty science based on their political outlook show a greater disdain for the real thing.
In my expert opinion, 2005 was easily the hottest summer I can remember. Easily. I worked like twice as many nights as any other year I've been farming because it was 108 every other day.

2013 was the warmest winter, again easily.

At least out here.

You don't like what the consensus is saying because you don't like the idea of changing your way of life. I get that. I don't get the blatant disregard for academia in general from the right. No wait, yeah I do. They are overwhelming liberal and not just on climate change but in most areas. The right tries to vilify them because they disagree with them. I get that also. However, science and academia is a good thing. It's what got the world out of the dark ages.

Again, in the long run science will prove it's current stance correct or it will reevaluate it's position based on more accumulation of data and experimentation. In the meantime, it's not wrong to want to do something to mitigate the rampant desire to pollute to make a profit. Unless of course, that is the goal all along huh?
On one side, you have scientists.  On the other side, you have politicians.   Which one are you going to believe?

Yeah, yeah. Same ol' crap. It's fraudulent and they know it, but gotta double down to save face.

I have a superiority complex, my shrink told me so.

This years winter has been pretty warm at least here in Florida. I think some of our north eastern friends would disagree however!

Follow your thought masters. That's a good boy.

Scientists can't possibly be correct. My politicians told me they were lying and even bought a couple of them to prove it! They, they, they wouldn't lie would they?!?!?!

You've got it wrong.

Liberals are paying scientists to say that Global warming is real.  As if man could actually have an affect on the environment.  I mean that's just silly.  Air quality certainly hasn't declined because of mankind.  Why, I bet the air quality is the same around the world.

Conservatives certainly wouldn't pay scientists to say Global Warming is fake.  Heck, they barely want to pay the people who work for them.  Why would they pay scientists to support their conclusions, and jump on the bandwagon of every scientist who just happens to agree with them?

I found this way funnier then I should have.

I think the dichotomy of the situation is what baffles me the most. They claim the vast majority of scientists are lying because of funding or political motivations. Their proof is in the the very few who have very clear ties/funding to the big energy or right wing groups.
What I find interesting is the people who want to believe the global warming issue is politically driven. Yeah, there are politicians who will use it to their advantage but the scientists in Japan, and Switzerland, and France, and Australia, and New Zealand, and Peru, and Russia, et. al. who all agree manmade materials are affecting the climate couldn't give a rat's patooty about our politics.

Believing politicians are creating the issue for their political gain is preposterous, believing politicians are using the issue for their political gain is not.

And to cut and paste the top comment on reddit:

James Inhofe received $434,950 dollars from the oil and gas industry from 2009-2014. By contrast, in second place, retired folks donated $240k. So you can see where his priorities lie.
