The Buccaneers were denied permission to interview Titans tight ends coach MIke Mularkey. Their former offensive coordinator was not named in the article.

My sister, Dixie Normess, dated a guy named Mike Rotch in high school. Wonder if its the same guy.
Mike Shanahan is expected to meet the 49ers in Denver, where they will interview Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase. Will this be the first time a father and son are interviewed for the same job in the same year by the same team?
Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn had his interview on Tuesday night. The 49ers will interview Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels on Saturday and Rex Ryan on Sunday. The article only said Gase's interview will be "this weekend." Looks like the 49ers will spend all weekend interviewing candidates.
I assume when they say the Falcons will interview McDaniels on Friday, that means January 9. The interview tracker was updated on Friday, January 2.
The Jets interviewed Seahawks director of pro personnel Trent Kirchner on Thursday for the general manager position. They have also "chatted" with internal candidate Rod Graves and Cleveland's Bill Kuharich. Philadelphia's Rick Mueller will be interviewed on Sunday and Houston's Mike Maccagnan will be interviewed on Monday for the same job. Minnesota's George Paton and Baltimore's Eric DeCosta decided to keep their current jobs after considering Jets interviews.
Quinn and Jets offensive line coach Tom Cable will get their interviews on Friday.
The 49ers interviewed Mike Shanahan. They are expected to show interest in Ravens offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak.
The Raiders interviewed Jack Del Rio.
The Redskins interviewed Wade Phillips.
The Jets are interviewing Doug Marrone today. They requested permission to interview Kubiak and Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles.
The Falcons will interview Marrone on Monday.
The Bills have requested permission to interview Lions defensive coordinator Teryl Austin, Colts offensive coordinator Pep Hamilton, and Bengals offensive coordinator Hue Jackson.
The 49ers interviewed Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase on Friday. Rex Ryan was scheduled to interview with them Sunday. They will interview Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles this week.
The Bears will interview Kansas City's Chris Ballard on Wednesday for the general manager position. For the head coach job, they interviewed Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn on Friday. The article is still saying Gase has not been interviewed yet, but because he is not available for interviews this week, I assume that is outdated information.
Wow. There were no reports all year the Redskins were thinking about hiring a new general manager, and now suddenly that is breaking news. Why weren't there reports about firing the old guy and interviews for finding a new one?
His name is Scot McCloughlin and he was out of football last year, but previously worked for the 49ers and Seahawks.

Because Bruce Allen wasn't fired. He was promoted to President.

So they fired the president?
I also foiund this interesting tidbit: John Madden "sat in" at Mike Shanahan's interview with the Raiders.

Quote:At the moment, we don't know whether or not Madden was asking any questions or if he was directing Mark Davis' line of questioning.
Rex Ryan's interview with the Falcons lasted at least five hours, but he left without a deal. The Bills want to talk to him next.

Quote:The length of the interview is proof of mutual interest, even if both parties are moving on to their next round of interviews.
News from Atlanta: General manager Thomas Dimitroff is safe, but some of his draft-related responsibilities will be transferred to assistant GM Scott Pioli. The next head coach may have control over the roster.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000...tructuring
Quote:Pioli will run Atlanta's pro and college scouting departments while also taking over the team's draft process. He will report to Dimitroff -- his close friend -- who will oversee the salary cap and continue to maintain ultimate control over the draft and free agency, per NFL Media's Albert Breer.
The Rams and Browns need offensive coordinators. The Browns also need to hire a quarterbacks coach.

Quote:The University of Georgia announced Wednesday that Brian Schottenheimer has left his post as offensive coordinator of the Rams to join the school in the same role.

Quote:In a bizarre offseason twist, the Browns are parting ways with offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and quarterbacks coach Dowell Loggains after just one season, NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported Thursday, per a source informed of the plans.
Raiders owner Mark Davis said he knows and understands his limitations in the interview process. About the interview with MIke Shanahan:
Quote:In an interview with the San Jose Mercury News, Davis said that he talked to Mike Shanahan about the "macro theory" while Madden talked scheme.

News on the Jets GM search:
Quote:The Jets interviewed Philadelphia's Rick Mueller on Sunday and will talk toMiami Dolphins scouting director Chris Grier on Monday for GM. The team also announced it will interviewBuccaneers executive Jon Robinson for the position.
I'm going to put this here just so Missy Jags' face doesn't melt due to things out of order but I'm also going to start a new thread on it.
Chicago has hired Ryan Pace, formerly of the New Orleans Saints, as their new GM.

I just saw that. He was in New Orleans 14 years, the last two as director of player personnel. NFL.com only says they "reached an agreement" with him, meaning it is not official yet.
The Buccaneers have an offensive coordinator and Dirk Koetter has a job. Good luck to a former Jaguar.

Quote:The team on Thursday announced that former Falcons play-caller Dirk Koetter has been hired to leadLovie Smith's offense. NFL Media Insider Ian Rapoport reported that Koetter agreed to a two-year deal with an option for a third. A source informed of the situation told Rapoport that Koetter was Tampa's top choice.
Gary Kubiak elected to remain with the Ravens instead of interviewing with other teams. The Bears were reportedly very interested in speaking to Kubiak.
