We should really dismiss it any time a player of Smith's caliber tries to give the Jaguars defense props.  What could he possibly know?

Jeez, guys... It was praise. "The national media doesn't talk about us" and then a NFL player talks to the media about us and we cry.

I guess we'll have to wait and see next year... we knew the team wasnt going to the playoffs this year but most of us just expected the team to be better

and to have like 6 wins at the end of the season.

I don't recall giving him props.  Simply pointing out that the luminaries like you on this message board know far more about the NFL than the guys playing, or the coaches coaching, or the GMs making personnel decisions.  You must have missed my point.

Sure, our D has some promising future stars on it, but they aren't very good as a whole right now.

Considering we held a top 5 rushing attack to under 100 yards and one of the top 3 running backs in the league to 48 yards and held their offense to 10 points until they got one more FG in garbage time. If you dont think that is lights out dude learn some football.

So, sacks are the only indication the defense is playing well?  The fact that the defense has done a pretty good job of keeping teams from racking up ridiculous scores of late is a pretty good sign for most people with a functional football IQ that they're playing well.  I guess that explains your struggles. 

 

Sacks are probably one of the more overrated stats to lean on, but not surprising that's your benchmark.
